EMC Corporation announced it has been named the winner of three Spring 2011 Technology Services Industry Association (TSIA) STAR Awards for Best Use of Metrics and Business Intelligence, Best Professional Services in Enabling Customer Success and Best Education Services for Enabling Customer Success. These three services awards further advance EMC’s elite status as a two-time Hall of Fame Lifetime Achievement Award winner. The awards were announced at the recent Technology Services World (TSW) conference in Santa Clara, California.

“At EMC, services are a critical component to the total customer experience we provide to our customers. We pride ourselves in delivering services and support that continue to set the pace in the marketplace. Accolades like the TSIA STAR Awards help demonstrate our capabilities and commitment to delivering differentiated services and knowledge transfer to our customers,” said Howard Elias, President and Chief Operating Officer, EMC Information Infrastructure and Cloud Services. "As customers and partners build their cloud and Big Data infrastructures, EMC continues to expand its technology and services portfolio to enable them to successfully transform IT and elevate the skills of their people."

The STAR Awards recognize technology companies that display exceptional leadership, innovation, and commitment in developing and implementing best practices. This year EMC was honored with the following three awards:

• For the second consecutive year, EMC was recognized for Best Use of Metrics and Business Intelligence for its customer-focused metrics and benchmarking program within its customer service organization.

• EMC was also recognized for Best Professional Services Enabling Customer Success by demonstrating organizational commitment to and record achievement in enabling customer success.

• The third award was for Education Services Excellence in Enabling Customer Success, which highlights EMC’s relentless commitment to learning and closing the knowledge and skills gap by educating not only its employees, but its customers and partners as well.

“The STAR Awards program is a long-standing honor in the technology services industry, recognizing organizations that exemplify and demonstrate exceptional innovation and leadership in the major disciplines of technology services,” said J.B. Wood, president and CEO of TSIA. “EMC has clearly demonstrated its high-level commitment to delivering world-class results in the areas of Professional Services, Customer Support and Education Services, and it was an honor to recognize them at our TSW event.”

Companies seeking the STAR Award undergo a rigorous evaluation process, with the winners selected by TSIA’s service discipline advisory board members. Since 1990, the STAR Awards have become one of the highest honors in the service and support industry, acknowledging the contribution of companies of all sizes to the continual improvement of service and support delivery industry-wide.
