Nawras Picks Up Three Awards At 7th Pan Arab Web Awards

Nawras is delighted to have picked up three awards at the 7th Pan Arab Web Awards held recently held in Lebanon. Representing Oman’s customer friendly communications provider, Online Manager, Idris Al-Balushi was in Beirut to accept the accolades at the exciting event which was attended by an audience of more than 450 of the region’s IT professionals.
A jubilant Al-Balushi, said, “I am thrilled to accept these awards on behalf of everyone at Nawras. We always strive to be caring, pleasingly different and excellent and this philosophy extends to our website too. We are using this important communication tool to talk to our valued customers and get closer to them, as we live the customer experience every day.”
Nawras received a silver award in the telecommunications services category for its creative website www.nawras.om and a second silver award for the innovative WAP portal www.bawabaty.om. Nawras also received a bronze award for www.shababiah.om which serves customers of Oman’s first youth focused mobile service and community. Shababiah customers enjoy exclusive mobile entertainment and information services including preferential entrance to special events.
Since launch in 2005, the dynamic Nawras website has repeatedly been recognised for offering a pleasingly different style. It is designed to be easy to navigate around and to display helpful and interesting information for customers as well as many other visitors to the site.
The website includes the many options offered for purchasing Nawras products and services together with the wide variety of convenient ways that customers can get help. It also includes details of the ever-increasing number of convenient ways to buy or transfer credit and to pay bills.
The Pan Arab Web Awards are designed to inspire and reward web creators with the awards serving as an encouragement for all sectors to showcase their websites and become more involved with information technology. Each occasion sees the submission of hundreds of entries.
Earlier this year, Nawras, a member of the Qtel Group, received the ‘Outstanding Leader’ award, which was presented to Chief Executive Officer Ross Cormack by TMT Finance Middle East. Nawras also received the ‘Strategic Leadership Award’ at the Global HR Excellence Awards and most recently was lauded with Best IPO in the Middle East by emea finance magazine.
