Canon’s Business Imaging Technology Enjoys Success At BLI Summer ‘Pick’ Awards

Published Aug 2, 2011

Canon, world leader in imaging solutions, has been awarded three ‘Outstanding Achievement’ awards and an award for ‘Outstanding Energy Efficiency’ by testing and research organisation, Buyers Laboratory Inc. (BLI) in its Summer 2011 ‘Pick’ Awards.

Following BLI’s rigorous in-depth laboratory tests, the following Canon devices were awarded Summer 2011 ‘Pick’ Awards:

• Canon i-SENSYS MF4580 was named Outstanding A4 Personal Monochrome MFP for its “impeccable reliability” and outstanding ease of use
• Canon i-SENSYS LBP6200d was named Outstanding A4 Personal Monochrome Printer for its outstanding overall productivity, ease of use and durability during two months of rigorous testing
• Canon imagePROGRAF iPF8300S was named Outstanding Colour Inkjet Wide-Format Production Photo Printer for its high speed and superior image quality

The BLI Summer 2011 ‘Pick’ Awards also honour the most energy-efficient models tested in the past six months, where the Canon i-SENSYS LBP6200d was recognised.

• Canon i-SENSYS LBP6200d was recognised for its ‘Outstanding Energy Efficiency’. Its annual energy consumption was found to be among the lowest of all competitive models, while BLI also highlighted its fast recovery times and paper-saving “intelligent duplexing” functionality.

“Canon’s success in the Summer 2011 ‘Pick’ awards is testament to the strength of Canon’s technology and the innovation displayed in its printing technology,” said David Sweetnam, BLI’s European Lab and Research Manager. “Canon has been recognised within the monochrome printer, MFP and Wide-Format printer categories. All devices went through months of rigorous durability testing at BLI’s testing labs, so to be recognised in the awards demonstrates the quality and reliability of Canon’s technology.”

Hendrik Verbrugghe, Marketing Director, Canon Middle East said, “We are pleased to be recognised by BLI for our innovative and high-quality print technology following the organisation’s respected and uncompromising laboratory tests. The inclusion of two Canon i-SENSYS devices in BLI’s Summer ‘Picks’, winning three awards, demonstrates the strength of Canon’s print portfolio. We’re proud of our ability to meet the varied needs of our customers; whether they need a print solution that is easy to use, reliable, productive, environmentally efficient, or all of the above.”

"Image is central to everything we do at Canon and so we understand the importance of high quality prints. We pride ourselves on providing the perfect balance between speed, quality and cost, along with the consistency and the reliability that professionals expect when using Canon products. To be recognised by BLI is a fantastic achievement that illustrates our commitment to the large format industry,” added Verbrugghe.
