Injazat Data Systems, a leading Information Technology (IT) and business process managed services provider in the UAE will discuss the importance of harmonizing IT investments and government activities during the Abu Dhabi leg of the 'IDC IT in Government Roadshow 2011’, taking place on December 14, 2011 at the Emirates Palace Hotel.
According to IT analyst firm International Data Corporation (IDC) , the IT sector in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region is expected to close out 2011 with a solid 7.1 percent year-on-year growth and see even stronger momentum in 2012. A major contributor to the sector’s strong performance in the region is the expanding and increasingly strategic role played by IT within both central and local government entities. This Roadshow will gather analysts, government representatives, and technology leaders to discuss key areas of public sector investments into IT, including e-governance and cloud computing.
Samir Abdullatif, Chief Strategy Officer of Injazat (Platinum Sponsor of the Roadshow) will deliver a keynote speech entitled ‘Aligning IT Investments to Government Priorities’ to explain the growth opportunities facilitated by long-term IT investment and how such investments support government priorities. He will talk about the major role of IT in delivering efficient government services, job creation, and transparency via enabling technologies such as managed services and cloud computing.
“IT has evolved into a major indicator and enabler of economic development. Governments can optimize the benefits from automating their processes and services by gaining a clear understanding of how IT complements their visions and which technology components specifically fit their development plans. This is actually one of the key priorities of Injazat to ensure that technology facilitates and supports organizations growth” said Ibrahim Mohamed Lari, Managing Director, Injazat Data Systems.
“While ICT is strategically embedded in the development frameworks of most of the region’s governments, each country has its own story to tell. This conference will focus on helping Public Sector CIOs understand some of the common concerns faced by their peers in implementing e-government initiatives, the evolving challenges, as well as the strategies they are employing to address these concerns,” according to Mukesh Chulani, Senior Regional Analyst, IDC Government Insights MEA.
IDC IT in Government Roadshow 2011 is organized by IDC CEMA, the regional arm of global IT market intelligence firm IDC, which recently ranked Injazat among the UAE’s top IT services providers. Injazat has consistently placed among the country’s top five ICT providers in IDC’s annual market report. Injazat Data Systems provides world-class Infrastructure, Consulting, Business Process Outsourcing, Applications, Project Management and Data Centre solutions to more than 40,000 end users. It is the owner and operator of the Middle East’s first Tier IV design-certified data center.
