Avnet Takes HP Networking Academy To Iraq

Published Dec 13, 2011

Avnet Technology Solutions, a regional value added distributor in the Middle East, has outlined that it will hold a special training programme under the 'HP Networking Academy' banner.

The initiative, which is being implemented in association with HP Networking division, is part of Avnet's value added programme offerings designed to enrich the skills set of channel partners and end-users in the region.

Fadi Bawab, channel manager, Avnet Technology Solutions, Iraq said: "Most of the existing channel training initiatives are held outside Iraq. Due to high travel costs and visa issues associated with this, it means that the majority of local channel partners and customers from Iraq miss out on updates on the latest technological developments. We believe that the academy will provide a great platform for many more local partners and end users to be on par with the rest of the region".

According to Avnet, experts from both Avnet and HP will give an overview and technical training on HP networking products, including the latest developments and offerings tailored for partners in the Iraqi market.

In addition, the distributor states that training for channel partners will include the HP networking certification as an added benefit.

Avnet says HP will offer the certification programme free of charge as the programme has proven to enable channel partners to win more projects. In addition, the distributor says partners that have gone through the programme are able to deploy and configure HP networking solutions on their own in Iraq.

Osama AbdElHai, channel manager HP Networking, Avnet Technology Solutions, said: "Avnet has taken several training initiatives for the local channel partners and customers in Iraq before. It is our mission to support partners, to upgrade their knowledge base and skills sets and help them grow their business".
