NETGEAR Reveals Highly Awaited Middle East Launch Of New Universal Push2TV HD Adapter

Published Dec 15, 2011

NETGEAR, a worldwide provider of technologically advanced, branded networking and storage products, has announced the much awaited Middle East launch of its latest Universal Push2TV HD Wireless PC to TV Adapter (PTVU1000). The PTVU1000 will enable users of Windows PCs or laptops to wirelessly display the contents of a computer’s screen onto a TV. The new adapter is being packaged as a perfect complement to consumers wanting to view HD quality multimedia content from their PCs to any large screen television in the household.

With the advent of faster internet speeds, the demand for more streamed multi-media content has also increased. However, connected devices like TVs, Blu-ray players and video game consoles can only provide users with access to a very limited list of online content. Looking to address this issue, NETGEAR’s Universal Push2TV HD Adapter transfers all the Internet content on the Windows PC or laptop to be displayed on any HDTV. This includes high-definition video from web sites such as Netflix, Vudu and YouTube; news from online sources like BBC, CNN and The New York Times and social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Google+; along with personal content including photos, music and home videos; DVD movies from the PC; and even business presentations. The device can transfer video resolutions of up to full HD 1080p, which provides high-quality images with crisp color and sharp detail on any big-screen HDTV.

“The release of the new Universal Push2TV HD Adapter ushers in a whole new experience in viewing online multimedia content,” said Ahmed Zeidan, Channel Sales Manager, NETGEAR Middle East. “This innovative new device will allow users to watch movies, TV shows and clips from the Internet on the biggest screen in the house, which takes away the hassle of crowding around a small laptop or PC screen when watching movies or playing photo slide shows.”

The NETGEAR Universal Push2TV HD Adapter is easy to use. Users can connect the device to a wireless adapter, about the size of a USB flash drive, into the USB port of a Windows laptop or desktop computer. A small wireless receiver connects to the HDTV through an included HDMI cable. After a simple one-time installation of software, the PC screen is wirelessly displayed on the TV. The PTVU1000 will be available in the Middle East by the end of December, 2011 at estimated retail price of USD 165.
