Mobile Giant Nokia To Release 3G Notebook

Published Aug 25, 2009
The wait is over. Nokia has just announced that it will release a 3G Windows based notebook worldwide.

Speculation has been rife for some time now that the mobile giant would enter the laptop market soon and was further fuelled by CEO Olli Pekka Kallasvuo’s comments to a Finnish broadcaster earlier this year.

Nokia’s Booklet 3G, powered by the Intel Atom processor, weighs 1.25 kilograms, measures just over two centimetres thick, and claims to have an impressive battery life of up to 12 hours.

Packed with a range of connectivity options, including 3G, Wi Fi and integrated GPS, the ultra portable device sports a 10 inch glass HD ready display and a number of Ovi related features.

"A growing number of people want the computing power of a PC with the full benefits of mobility," said Kai Oistamo, Nokia's executive VP for Devices in a company statement.

"We are in the business of connecting people and the Nokia Booklet 3G is a natural evolution for us. Nokia has a long and rich heritage in mobility and with the outstanding battery life, premium design and all day, always on connectivity, we will create something quite compelling. In doing so we will make the personal computer more social, more helpful and more personal".

Pricing and availability details for the Nokia Booklet 3G will be announced on September 2nd at the Nokia World event taking place at Stuttgart, Germany this year.
