Ineltec: Solutions For High-Speed Data Networks

Published Aug 30, 2009
R&M will unveil new cabling solutions for high-speed data networks at the Ineltec trade show in Basel. From September 1 through 4, the Swiss cabling specialist will be in trade show hall 1.1 at stand B60 showing how broadband infrastructures can be efficiently set up today for city networks and computing centers, as well as office and residential buildings.

R&M has selected the Ineltec as the venue for presenting its newly developed Cat. 6A system to the industry. Cat. 6A, with the A written as a subscript in accordance with the future ISO/IEC standard, is a key for opening up new dimensions in copper cabling. Cat. 6A systems are used in the kind of high performance data networks found in computing centers and in commercial and administrative buildings.

R&M will also show innovations in fiber optic cabling that support the quick and full-coverage expansion of broadband networks all the way into the home. One of its new products is the fiber optic splice outlet. With its compact design, this outlet is ideal for use in all residential and business buildings as well as in hotels, law firms and doctor’s offices. It provides up to four fiber optic connections and can be combined with copper cabling already in place.

The extended Home Wiring System from R&M featuring multimedia outlets will take care of broadband services within homes. The current generation of R&M multimedia outlets will be on display at the Ineltec.

They enable performance of up to 10 Gigabit Ethernet in home net-works for the first time. With this kind of bandwidth, even films with high resolution can be transmitted in mere minutes. The new MultiroomPro audio system supplements the line of R&M solutions for home cabling. MultiroomPro provides all the rooms in a home with music. This cabling system is easy to install and has modern operating panels that can be put into service without any software programming.

For operators of regional and municipal fiber optic networks, R&M is presenting the Venus Box FML, a fast-mounting home connection solution, plus its new SCM System (Single Circuit Management System). With the SCM module holder, several hundred optical fibers can be managed and distributed quite neatly in a minimal space. Despite its compact size, the SCM System offers a unique bending radius for this category, namely 40 millimeters. This feature eliminates stress and strain on laid fibers, a crucial factor for optimal transmittance of laser light. The SCM System family can be used at all levels, from the central office of a network operator to a home connection.

A further innovation for FO network operators is LC Duplex Security from R&M. This advance on the LC connector contains integrated laser protection to prevent eye injuries and can be supplemented with a lock for locking the connection. With these safety features, LC can now be used more easily in office and residential buildings and in computing centers.

R&M demonstrates how computing centers can operate more efficiently with its new Angled Panel. This design makes cable management on the front side of a 19” rack all the simpler and faster.

Electricians, planners and operators of networks interested in becoming involved with R&M solutions can obtain current information on the R&M Qualified Partner Program at the Ineltec. This program offers internationally proven training from R&M plus long-term guarantees and practical support for everyday installation work.
