Google Doodle Celebrates the Birthday of the Famous Egyptian Singer And Composer Mohammed Abdel Wahab

Google is proud to be celebrating the renowned singer and composer Mohamed Abdel Wahab. Throughout the region, Google will celebrate the birthday of this incredible artist with a Doodle in his honor. The doodle pays tribute to one of the most famous singers and composers of the 20th-century by representing his infamous and preferred musical instrument the “oud”.
Mohamed Abdel Wahab was born in Bab El-Shaariyah area of Cairo, Egypt. He was famous for his songs, compositions and even acting. He was named the “Musician and Composer of the Generations”. Abdel Wahab composed the \"Ya Beladi\" (also known as \"Libya, Libya, Libya\") the Libyan national anthem, which was used by the Kingdom of Libya from 1951 to 1969 and again by the post-Gaddafi transitional government in 2011. He also composed more than nine songs for the renowned singer Umm Kalthum. Mohammed Abdel Wahab was also a very close friend to the singer Abdel Halim Hafez.
Mohamed Abdel Wahab died in 1991. His personal belongings are on shown in the Music institute of Cairo and he has been recognized with a statue in the neighborhood he grew up in.
