Realising its promise to engage customers and the community, Oman’s customer friendly service provider Nawras, is sponsoring a number of multi-cultural events in March. This includes the charity event entitled ‘Our Children’ on 23 March 2012, the Sohar Music Festival 2012, the 4th Annual Cricket Tournament and the National Association for Cancer Awareness Walkathon in Salalah.
“We are committed to bringing people closer not only through our innovative products and services but by being part of staple events in Oman’s social calendar,” expressed Nawras Head of Corporate Affairs, Mutassim Hamood Al-Zadjali.
‘Our Children’ charity event is organised by a group of ladies from the Nawras family, who are a part of the Springboard Programme run by the company in conjunction with the British Council. The event will be held at the Omani Women’s Association in Shatti Al Qurum. From 10:00am until 10.00pm, there will be a selection of plays, face painting and live music as well as an opportunity to purchase products from home business owners. All proceeds will go towards The Child Care Centre, Al Khoud, which was the starting point for the company’s Nawras Goodwill Journey in 2011.
Commenting on the successful three-year collaboration with Sohar Music Festival, Mutassim Al-Zadjali added, “Sohar is an important and growing market for us which has become Oman’s industrial hub where many of our customers live and work. The annual music festival appeals to different age groups and audiences which presents us with the perfect platform to showcase our latest customer-friendly services.”
Nawras recently concluded its 4th Corporate Cricket Tournament at Al Khuwair Oman Club Stadium, with a triumphant win by the Suhail Bahwan Automotive Group Cricket Team. The tournament was the first-of-its-kind in the Sultanate when it began four years ago and continues to draw a growing number of participants year on year.
As part of its corporate social responsibility agenda, Nawras also sponsored the National Association for Cancer Awareness (NACA) annual walkathon in Salalah which was held on 14 March. The company’s family members joined hands with hundreds of citizens and residents to raise public awareness on the disease and highlight the importance of early detection.
A member of the Qtel Group, Nawras continues to add a pleasingly different experience to the many diverse events it supports throughout the year. The company’s caring approach is reflected into communities nationwide through charity events, sporting activities and entertainment shows.
