The NWA Conference 2012 in Paris: Beyond Automating Networks

Published Mar 22, 2012

Upperside Conferences based in Paris will organize the third edition of Network Automation Conference at the Novotel Convention Paris Roissy CDG from 19 to 21 June, 2012.

Automation plays a progressively significant role in the international economy and in our daily lives. Engineers endeavor to combine automated devices with mathematical and organizational tools to create multifaceted systems for a rapidly growing range of applications and human activities. Complexity of networks are thus consistently on the rise.

IP networks are like central nervous systems of modern enterprises. Large and small computers, devices and sensors, phones and gadgets, all communicate via IP numbers and domain names.

OK, BUT WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?

Jim Frey, Director of Network Management Research at EMA, who spearheaded a study on Network Automation*, says: “I am afraid many organizations are primed for a rude awakening when they attempt to broadly take advantage of virtualization applications;
the amount of change in the network and real-time requirements will be daunting for IT representatives to tackle without the necessary automation tools in place.”

Reducing costs and administration time required to manage change and configurations of the network while ensuring compliance in a stable and secure environment is important to carriers, service providers and network equipment vendors. Automation of networks is essential to address virtualization issues, cloud computing Intricacies and IPv6 Rollouts.

Network Automation and its offerings drive real business value by:
1. Real-time network visibility, automation and control for both virtual and physical environments
2. Automated detection of change, configuration updates and policy enforcement
3. Increased compliance and security
4. Time-consuming and error-prone manual tasks are minimized or entirely eliminated.

Our NWA Conference in June will focus on network embedded automation, automating service provisioning and network configuration. This third edition of NWA will once again bring together leaders among service providers, network equipment vendors, and providers of network management and operation solutions to discuss industry challenges and opportunities, present new ideas, and share best practices around the topic of network automation.

Project leaders, manufacturers and service developers will address these aspects in detail through up-to-date contributions during the conference.
