Kaspersky Lab Enters Samsung Apps

Published Apr 9, 2012

Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content and threat management solutions, announces that it has signed up to Samsung Apps. The Samsung application store has started stocking Kaspersky Lab’s solutions for both smartphones and tablets - Kaspersky Mobile Security and Kaspersky Tablet Security. Since February 2012 these security solutions can be downloaded to Android-running Samsung devices all over the world. They are available online in nine languages: Danish, English, Finnish, French, German, Korean, Norwegian, Spanish, and Swedish.

Commenting on the agreement with Samsung, Garry Kondakov, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer of Kaspersky Lab, said: “We are happy to be further strengthening our cooperation with Samsung. We’ve put a lot of effort into developing our best-in-the-class solutions for tablets and mobile devices. This segment is one of the top priorities for us in the nearest future. Having Kaspersky Lab’s solutions in Samsung Apps will help us not only to expand our distribution channels, but also to strengthen our global presence and brand recognition.”

Kaspersky Lab products downloaded from the Samsung Application Store have an extended trial period: in the first month customers will be able to use the product for free. After the first month Samsung users will be offered the products at a reduced price.

Kaspersky Mobile Security is a user-friendly, reliable solution that protects mobile devices from network attacks, malware that targets mobile platforms, and SMS spam. And should a smartphone be lost or stolen, the data in its memory can be blocked or wiped, even if the SIM has been removed. It supports the most popular smartphone platforms, such as Android, Symbian, Windows Mobile and Blackberry, and for some of them provides tools to safely encrypt user data in addition to the standard protection from malware, and anti-loss/theft functionality.

Kaspersky Tablet Security provides comprehensive anti-malware protection for this relatively new type of device. Tailored specially to tablets’ particular hardware and interface characteristics, it delivers automatic virus-scanning of downloaded apps and cloud-enabled protection for rapid reaction against new viruses, spyware, Trojans, bots and more. The new version of the product implemented with anti-theft features will also be available in Samsung Apps in the nearest future.
