These smart appliances dramatically reduce the investment of time and effort into household chores”. Mr. Kim added.
Samsung continues to remain a top tier home appliances brand with products such as the side by side refrigerators currently enjoying a dominant position.
Based on this success, Samsung unveiled a selection of future home appliances at IFA that continue to combine eye catching design with cutting edge technology and eco friendly features.
Products showcased at IFA 2009:
• G-Series Refrigerator, which provides the largest capacity internally (100 liters) while remaining the same size externally, and “Twin,” the one door fridge and one door freezer that can be fitted as part of a built in design or stand together or independently of each other. Featuring easy to use controls and intelligently designed interiors, both products come equipped with advanced humidity controls that keep contents fresh for longer periods of time.
• New washer and dryer featuring Vibration Reduction Technology (VRT™) with 14 kilograms of capacity, significantly reducing noise and vibration (a problem commonly associated with front loading washers). Another new energy efficient washer features Hot Fill Eco technology, which adapts to household conditions by detecting whether hot water is available and, if so, uses it to reduce the amount of energy used by 50 percent. Additionally, it features the specially designed Diamond Drum that gives fabric extra care, and the Quiet Drive Motor that helps to reduce noise emissions and makes it perfect for silent night washes.
• Guiding LightTM convection microwave oven has a new feature built into the user interface that guides the consumer through settings such as cooking time and power level, so they can produce high quality, properly home cooked meals. The new triple distribution heating system enhances heating and defrosting performance, delivering quick but even cooking results. It has also been awarded the prestigious international Good Design Award in 2009.
• FUROT II is Samsung's latest fully automated robot vacuum cleaner. In addition to excellent pick up performance, this robot cleaner features a revolutionary navigation system, built in camera and eight environment sensors, allowing it to move in complete autonomy between target rooms and over carpets and rugs while avoiding furniture and stairs. Possessing the ability to see where it is going and think about the best possible route, this robot is also able to remember where it has been and what it still has to clean. Samsung's vacuuming technology promises to revolutionize the way consumers clean their home.
• GEO is a newly launched family design series for Samsung’s built in product categories including electric ovens, compact ovens (steam ovens and speed ovens) and built in microwave ovens. GEO TwinCook oven’s TwinCook technology is a key feature of Samsung’s oven range.
• TwinCook oven’s divider and convection feature allow separate dishes to be cooked at different temperatures at the same time, cutting down on cooking time. The product won an IDEA gold medal in 2009.
