CEOs and top business leaders from prominent businesses within the UAE attended du’s CEO Forum 2012, the third forum of its kind held as part of du’s business Leadership Series. The event was presented under the theme of ‘The Power of the Web and Open innovation’. Guest speaker Chris Anderson, New York Times’ best-selling author of ‘The Long Tail: Why the Future of Business is Selling Less of More’ and ‘Free’, delivered an invigorating presentation on ‘The Next Wave of the Digital Revolution’.
“The world is changing, because of our relationship with the internet. Businesses are evolving, where products and services are delivered at a fraction of the cost. With the evolution of social media, through crowd-funding and crowd-sourcing, the manufacturing sector is undergoing an industrial revolution in which anyone can become a manufacturer and a distributor,” said Chris Anderson.
Chris Anderson’s presentation detailed the ways in which technology impacts society and individuals, and how it enables us to change the world around us through the power of the web and the use of open source code and community involvement.
The forum, held at Madinat Jumeirah, was opened with an address by Osman Sultan CEO, du,
“This forum has a particular meaning and a particular place in my heart. It’s not about talking business, but about opening our minds to embrace thinking in a different way. I would like to thank all of the attendees for joining us for this very special occasion, and of course, Chris Anderson for his wonderful insight. Apart from this forum, we have the Customer Advisory Board and other business forum to engage and hear directly from our customers said Osman Sultan.
The CEO Forum 2012 was an invitation-only event, held as part of du’s business Leadership Series. Through these innovative, inspirational events, du aims to bring together the UAE’s top business leaders for a series of sessions with some of the world’s most thought-provoking thinkers – such as Chris Anderson, and previous speakers Professor Clayton Christensen, best-selling author Robin Sharma and inventor Pranav Mistry.
