Acer Appoints Optimus for Server and Storage Distribution

Published Jul 17, 2012

Acer Computer, one of the world’s leading PC manufacturers, has appointed Optimus as a value added distributor to compliment its robust channel eco-system for the Middle East, Afghanistan and Pakistan region, it was announced today.

“We are happy to partner with Acer to distribute their server and storage solutions across the GCC region, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iraq. Acer’s strong product portfolio enhances our overall offering, enabling us to provide a comprehensive and complete solution to our customers and partners. Through our marketing and channel development activities, we plan to strengthen Acer’s channel network and increase their sales and market share in these regions. We are looking forward to working closely with their team and are confident that Acer’s products along with their high level of support will add immense value to our solutions offerings," commented Meera Kaul, Managing Director of Optimus Technology & Telecommunications.

Optimus will create and establish Acer’s value channel network by conducting channel development activities for its value added resellers, systems integrators and distributors.

It will also conduct various marketing activities and position Acer as a solution of choice to complement a customer’s server and storage requirements. Through its Value Added Services portfolio called Optimus 360, Acer’s resellers will be offered training, certifications, skill development, consultancy services to help them sell solutions, marketing as a service through Optimus Primero and an entire host of capacity building services to enable them to position and sell the product efficiently and effectively. The company will also train partners to enhance their service capabilities and address customer requirements appropriately through their training arm, Optimus Academy.

"The GCC region, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iraq are very important markets for Acer. We were looking to sign on an established distributor to help increase our footprint in these regions. Optimus, having a strong channel network and extensive market knowledge and experience, was a perfect fit. This combined with their strong after sales service and technical support facilities made them an ideal partner to distribute our wide range of server and storage solutions. We are confident that our partnership with Optimus will help provide a momentum for our growth in these regions,” said Grigory Nizovsky, Country Manager, Acer Middle East and Pakistan.

Acer’s server and storage solutions deliver superior price/performance ratios and reliability across a broad range of models. The Acer server family comprises tower, rack, blade and multi-node solutions based on Intel Xeon and AMD Opteron processors and are designed to deliver superior quality. The products are backed by specialized expertise in virtualization, multi-node architectures and other technologies required for implementing complete solutions in today’s increasingly demanding business and professional computing environments. On the storage side, Acer is working with Hitachi Data Systems to offer an entry-level SAN array, a high-end NAS appliance, midrange SAN array and an entry to midrange NAS appliance.
