Trend Micro Recognized as a Champion in the DLP Market by Independent Third-Party Research Group

Published Jul 26, 2012

Trend Micro Inc., the global leader in cloud security, was named Champion in the data loss prevention (DLP) market space within the Info-Tech Research Group 2012 Group Vendor Landscape Report for DLP, which evaluated 10 select vendors that offer DLP solutions. Research and advisory firm Info-Tech Research Group defines Champion as those vendors and solutions that receive high scores across their evaluation criteria and offer excellent value. Champions have strong market presence and are trend setters for the industry. The report can be found here.
Trend Micro achieved the highest value score among all vendors assessed, and received the Value Award by Info-Tech Research Group for offering “the best value for [Trend Micro’s] breadth of features and for maintaining the highest Info-Tech value score of the vendor group.” Overall, the Info-Tech Research Group report stated that “Trend Micro gives enterprises a robust product at an affordable price. Mid-sized enterprises looking for a viable vendor and an equally strong DLP solution will find both in Trend Micro.”

Trend Micro entered the DLP market in 2007 and has since continued to bring new innovations to its core DLP product, Trend Micro™ Data Loss Prevention, and to extend this data-centric protection to Trend Micro’s family of threat protection solutions to enable organizations to more easily and efficiently defend against accidental and malicious data leaks. Most recently, Trend Micro introduced central policy management for integrated DLP that brings together data and threat protection at the client, server, and gateway.

“Solving the problem of intentional or inadvertent data leaks is part of Trend Micro’s commitment to our data-centric protection strategy, especially in the age of mobility and advanced persistent threats,” said Steve Quane, Chief Product Officer, Trend Micro. “We will continue to evolve our DLP solution as the threat landscape changes in order to provide our customers with the best DLP protection that’s effective, easy-to-use, and low on operational costs.”

Info-Tech Research Group Vendor Landscape reports recognize outstanding vendors in the technology marketplace. Assessing vendors by the strength of their offering and their strategy for the enterprise, Info-Tech Research Group Vendor Landscapes pay tribute to the contribution of exceptional vendors in a particular category.
