SAS is part of Leaders Quadrant in Gartner’s latest Magic Quadrant for Data Quality Tools

Published Sep 6, 2012

SAS®, the leading provider of business analytics software and services, has been included in the Leaders Quadrant in this year’s edition of Gartner Incorporated’s ‘Magic Quadrant for Data Quality Tools.’ The company's SAS® DataFlux® data management technology was evaluated on a number of criteria, including functionality, integration, ease of use, customer support and product road map.

According to Gartner, the world's leading information technology research and advisory company, leaders included in the ‘Magic Quadrant for Data Quality Tools’ can be described as “companies who demonstrate strength across a full range of data quality functions, including profiling, parsing, standardization, matching, validation and enrichment. They exhibit a clear understanding and vision of where the market is headed, including recognition of non-customer data quality issues and delivery of enterprise-level data quality implementations. Leaders have an established market presence, significant size and a multinational presence, directly or as a result of a parent company."

"SAS is extremely dedicated to delivering quality products and services to our customers within the data management industry," said Jim Davis, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, SAS. "Enterprises appreciate the platform's ease of use and ability to quickly and easily integrate multiple data sources into a single, master source. By treating data like a corporate asset, our customers are able to derive key business information to make better, more informed decisions."

SAS recently announced that the company has fully absorbed its DataFlux subsidiary in an effort to bring the brand closer to its core business. The move reflects the company's recognition of the strong opportunities within the information management market--further believing that the effort will also allow it to fully capitalize on opportunities by leveraging both companies’ technology and resources.

"We believe that by fully integrating DataFlux into the SAS organization, the product line will be able to take advantage of a stellar team of developers, sales staff, and the company's overall global resources. As we continue to execute on the information management product road map, we're looking forward to expanding our capabilities within big data environments and fully leveraging the federated data component of the platform," added Davis.

iJET International, an intelligence-driven provider of operational risk management solutions, will use SAS’ DataFlux Data Management Platform to streamline its data management initiatives and develop a master source for all corporate data. The company, which has worked with more than 500 multinational corporations and government organizations, offers services like Operational Risk Management, Travel Risk Management, Intelligence, Emergency Response and Professional Services.

"The single platform approach that SAS offers will allow us to minimize the complexity of our master data management initiative," said Richard Murnane, Director of Enterprise Data Operations, iJET. "The SAS DataFlux Data Management technology should provide quantifiable improvements within a few months."

The solution provides organizations like iJET with the ability to plan and complete data integration, data quality and master data management (MDM) projects from a single interface. SAS has combined its advanced capabilities into a unified development and delivery environment, helping business and IT to work together on critical aspects of data management.

“Businesses in the Middle East demonstrate a strong demand for strategic business tools that can help improve decision accuracy. For decades, SAS has been the leader in addressing trusted, reliable decision-making with key products like our SAS-DataFlux data management technology. This technology allows for management, governance, cleansing and master view creation on structured and unstructured data sources used to feed predictive analytic processing and intelligence actionable reporting. Being included again in the Leaders area of Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Data Quality Tools is a fitting testament to our commitment to our customers in their move towards optimizing business opportunities,” concluded Carel Badenhorst, Head of Technology Practice, SAS Middle East Africa, Turkey & Pakistan.
