Expansion of DataCell Software Development Division to Drive Business Growth for SCOPE in Middle East & North Africa

Published Sep 16, 2012

Given the upswing in the IT software development market in the Middle East and the tremendous success the company has seen so far, SCOPE Group, a leading value added distributor, technology solutions provider and system integrator in the Middle East, now intends to further expand its DataCell division.

“There has been a great reception to our software development services and since it’s inception, the DataCell division has grown to become a key business driver for our organization as it allows us to offer our customers the entire gamut of IT services. DataCell currently has a significant line-up of projects in the pipeline, which is why we intend to extend our capabilities by recruiting more developers to the division,” says Mr. Fadi AbuEkab, CEO, SCOPE.

“The DataCell division is focused on business opportunities in UAE, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Lebanon, Bahrain, Egypt and North African counties. We are in the process of hiring more employees in sales and pre-sales positions as we plan to extend our reach to new markets and sectors,” Mr. AbuEkab continues.

DataCell, the software development arm of the Group with a current staff strength of 12 employees, was launched three years ago and has successfully implemented solutions ranging from portal and intranet, enterprise applications and fax server applications to workflow and specialized ERP solutions for a number of prominent government entities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), as well as private enterprises and commercial sector. DataCell have also concluded other prestigious projects in many GCC and Levant countries. As part of its ERP solutions, SCOPE has developed specialized software for the glass manufacturing industry and has implemented over ten projects for reputed glass manufacturers in the region.

Going beyond the specialized software development skill set, the DataCell division's capabilities extend to professional project management along with dedicated after sales support and systems warranty. The services offered by the DataCell division are supplemented by pre-sales and consultancy of the systems integration division, Scope Information Systems, as well as the delivery of hardware related services through the long standing expertise of Scope Middle East, the value added distribution arm of the company. The company’s solutions have seen wide-scale deployment in medium to large enterprises within both government and private entities across a broad range of verticals such as healthcare, education, banking and finance and manufacturing.

Speaking optimistically about the future plans of the Group, Mr. Saed Sakran, the Group Sales Director says, “We see so much potential for growth that we are in the process of outlining ambitious expansion plans. The Middle East market is a challenging market, which is even more exciting as we see challenges as opportunities. I believe that providing customers with an integrated solution, covering hardware, software and support services, is what really gives us a competitive advantage and we will continue to build upon and enhance our abilities to maintain this in future.”
