Empower Urges Developers To Adopt District Cooling As A Cost-Effective And Environment Friendly Method

Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the leading district cooling provider in the Middle East, has urged real estate development companies participating at Cityscape Global 2012, the Middle East's largest and most significant real estate event, taking place at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre to put district cooling on top of their priority list especially since these companies have emerged from the industry downturn and are now fully geared to launch new projects.
Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower, said that these companies hold a major responsibility to disseminate the district cooling usage as their technical teams are fully aware of the direct benefits of district cooling on these companies, end-users, economy and society as a whole, taking into consideration the threat of the climate change that the world is facing.

Bin Shafar said that district cooling technology saves operational and maintenance costs and preserves natural resources, making it the natural choice for use in real estate projects specially, the newly launched ones.
He added that Arab governments have the responsibility to foster this technology and expand its usage where real estate companies are aware of the importance of district cooling, but there are no district cooling companies to provide the service in many Arab countries.
Bin Shafar said that there are few Arab countries that have opened the doors for this technology, with the UAE leading the way.
Bin Shafar said that time has come to abandon conventional chilling services in favor of district cooling that is environmental friendly and less energy consuming and most importantly it ensures high quality for the end user.
