Renergy Tech will be promoting green technology designed to prolong battery life and reduce hazardous chemical waste at this year’s ITU World. The company, which aims to expand into the Middle East, is looking to promote its smart charging technology as part of a wider effort to support the development of a green technology industry in the Gulf.
Founded to solve the issue of the high levels of battery waste Renergy Tech has developed solutions that dramatically extend battery life through eliminating chemical impurities and plate corrosion which occurs during electric charging and discharging.
“A number of governments and bodies are heavily promoting battery recharging, such as the European Union. However, battery recharging is still a new concept in the Middle East and Africa,” said Renergy Tech president Heung-Woo Lee. “Single use batteries have a great impact on the environment and they cost consumers and businesses much more. Our technologies allow batteries to be used multiple times thereby reducing their impact on the environment and air and water pollution levels.”
Renergy Tech’s innovations include hybrid battery technology designed to start a vehicle’s combustion engine, recharging devices for industrial and UPS batteries, and batteries to store energy captured from renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power and which can be deployed in smart grids. Renergy Tech is working with the automotive industry and many telecom companies to launch electric batteries and charging stations for next generation electric-powered vehicles.
“There’s no doubt that green technology holds massive potential for the battery industry. This is a sector with limitless growth, and one can create hundreds and thousands of jobs for the Gulf region. We do need support from the public sector to promote change, but the private sector needs to understand the opportunities that are there and work with companies like Renergy Tech to promote green technology in the region,” added Lee.
Renergy Tech will be on the Korea Association of Information and Telecommunication stand at ITU World, and its executives will be at the five-day event from 14 to 18 October at the Dubai World Trade Center to meet with potential partners from the energy industry.
