Dubai eGovernment Unveils its New Electronic Service Catalogue at GITEX 2012

Published Oct 16, 2012

On the sidelines of its ongoing participation in GITEX Technology Week 2012, Dubai eGovernment has launched its comprehensive Electronic Service Catalogue as part of its plans to offer more innovative channel-based services, which it regards as key pillars of Dubai eGovernment.

To facilitate access for all industries, the 51 catalogued services are classified into two categories, the first covers 42 services offered to government authorities and organizations, while the second includes 9 services targeting individuals and businesses. The services are presented in a hierarchy showing the various divisions and sections of Dubai eGovernment, with detailed description on every service and its prerequisites.

Some of the key services offered to the public sector include Government Resource Planning (GRP) systems which allow government entities to automate their resources and administrative processes; Government Information Network enabling joint government network services and internet access; Messaging and Collaboration solutions offering online messaging and communication; and after-service support.

The services provided to the public and corporate sector (citizens, residents, visitors and businesses) include the eRecruitment Portal offering job opportunities within Dubai government organizations; eComplaint system to file complaints with government entities; e-Suggest system where users can submit their suggestions on how to enhance service delivery; and ePay which allows users to pay their government-related bills and fines via the internet.
H.E. Ahmad Bin Humaidan, Director General of Dubai eGovernment, said: “The Electronic Service Catalogue is part of Dubai eGovernment’s strategic approach to leverage its technically advanced online services and applications to make it easier for our clients, including businesses, citizens, residents and visitors using our services, thus increasing public confidence in our secure, state-of-the-art electronic services framework. Participating at GITEX 2012 gives us the opportunity to raise more public awareness on the objectives, vision and services of Dubai eGovernment. We currently offer 51 integrated services to government authorities, individuals and businesses, such as our newly launched mobile e-payment system. This move complements the vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to provide a comfortable lifestyle in Dubai while adhering to the highest international standards across our interactive channels.”

He added: “The new Electronic Service Catalogue is essential to Dubai eGovernment, serving all beneficiaries and users from both public and private sectors. It acts as an effective channel that introduces them to the services provided by the Department. We provide the government sector with consultation services, e-participation, website streaming, messaging and collaboration services, Government Information Network services, GRP systems and after-service support. On the other hand, individuals and businesses can benefit from an array of other services, including e-Complaint and e-Suggest systems, in addition to the e-Recruitment Portal and other services.”
