Panasonic Middle East and Africa Headquarters Now ISO 14001:2004 Certified

Panasonic headquarters for Middle East and Africa is now ISO 14001:2004 certified.

An ISO 14001 implementation and certification proves that Panasonic’s Environmental Management System has been measured against a best practice standard and found compliant. The Bureau of Assessment Services (BAS), the ISO certification body, awards accreditation to companies who meet these strict standards.

This certification is in line with the company’s group-wide global commitment of driving eco-innovation and becoming the No.1 Green Innovation Company, by 2018 –its 100th anniversary.

By driving green innovation in all aspects of our business practices; we are best positioned to seamlessly integrate our contribution to the environment. The ISO 14001:2004 certification is a proud achievement for our regional headquarters based here in Dubai”, said Masao Motoki, Managing Director, Panasonic Marketing Middle East and Africa.
Panasonic’s drive for sustainability is keeping with the Company’s ‘Eco Ideas Declaration’ for the Middle East and Africa region. To achieve this goal, the company is pursuing its Eco Ideas for Lifestyles by promoting sustainable and comfortable green lifestyles. On the other hand, its Eco Ideas for Business-stylesaims to reduce the environmental impact of its operations to a maximum extent.
Through these initiatives, the company aims at technology innovations and ideas that are aimed to protect the environment. The ‘Superior Green Products’- which have been internally certified by Panasonic, are those that have achieved the industry's top environmental performance in terms of energy saving, effective utilization of resources and the management of chemical substances.

Panasonic aims to double the regional sales of these productsby March 2013.

Progressing further, the company’s environmental commitment is also reflected in the daily operations and activities of its worldwide manufacturing and business locations.The company encourages everyone everywhere to make environmental responsibility a personal, daily commitment. In line with this, the company has introduced several initiatives, to engage people.

“In today’s business environment, organizations incorporate a number of management systems, and BAS certifications provide value and assessment of a company’s management system. Specific attention is given to the implementation of the audit programme. By fully applying these guidelines, the prerequisites are provided to make auditing a crucial tool for top management to achieve the objectives of the organization,” said, Xavier Gabriel, Certification Manager, Bureau of Assessment Services (BAS).
