SYBASE 365 Continues To Expand Global IPX Ecosystem

Published Nov 5, 2012

Sybase 365®, the mobile services arm of SAP and the global leader in mobile interconnection and mobile commerce services, today announced a partnership with Zajil International Telecom Co., Kuwait's leading ISP and MPLS service provider. This partnership further strengthens the Sybase 365 global footprint by extending IP Exchange (IPX) services to mobile operators in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Together with Zajil’s state-of-the-art MPLS core network and Sybase 365’s global IPX network, seamless LTE roaming services will be available, providing a better subscriber experience and increased cost savings for mobile operators.

"Strong partnerships are key to developing and expanding the services available to operators both in the region and globally,” said John Sims, President, Sybase 365. “This agreement with Zajil further cements Sybase 365’s position in the mobile ecosystem as a trusted partner and provider of industry-leading services. Mobile operators in the MENA region will now have access to a full suite of IPX services, which will enable them to innovate and offer customers a seamless user experience.”

“Zajil is proud to be part of Sybase 365’s global operator community,” said Khalifa Al-Soulah, MD and CEO, Zajil. “In today’s highly competitive business environment, combining the strengths of our two companies gives us the ability to offer the highest quality solutions to our subscribers across the MENA region”.

The partnership with Zajil will facilitate delivery of LTE roaming and IPX services through the MENA region, to address the rapid growth of LTE; this will enable mobile subscribers to access high-speed data services both on the latest 4G networks as well as existing 3G, when travelling abroad.

LTE deployments have skyrocketed on a worldwide basis. According to Informa Telecoms & Media, LTE is commercial on 88 networks in 42 countries with approximately 140 total networks expected by the end of 2012. There are 10 live networks in seven countries in the Middle East & Africa, with more hoping to launch before the end of the year.

Sybase 365’s GSMA compliant approach and its comprehensive portfolio of services, places the company in a unique position to support mobile operators, as they look to increase revenues while improving end-user experience.
