Blue Coat Named Security Solutions Provider of the Year at ICT Achievement Awards for Third Consecutive Year

Blue Coat Systems, Inc., a market leader in Web security and WAN optimization, announced that it has been named Security Solutions Provider of the Year at the Computer News Middle East ICT Achievement awards. The award recognizes Blue Coat’s leadership in delivering the highly innovative security solutions that help customers address challenges associated with the transition to cloud and web-based applications and the growing adoption of BYOD initiatives.

Winners are selected based on a number of criteria, including new products introduced and expansion of the regional customer base in the past 18 months. The judges also based their decision on the impact and the benefits achieved by customers with the solutions, commitment to after-sales service and enterprise training, and efforts to improve security awareness among end users.
In January 2011, Blue Coat made a major breakthrough in security with its discovery of malware delivery networks, or malnets. These infrastructures are embedded in the Internet with the sole purpose of launching ongoing attacks against users. In 2012, malnets are expected to drive more than two-thirds of all Web-based attacks. Blue Coat is the only company in the industry that is identifying and tracking malnets to block attacks at their source before they launch. This highly effective defense against Web-based threats, is not available through any other solution. Blue Coat also introduced the Blue Coat Cloud Service, a security-as-a-service offering that provides companies with the flexibility to choose the Web security deployment mode that best aligns with their security requirements.
