LG Electronics, a leading provider of business solutions, announced the latest offering in its designer series of monitors, the W86.
This stylish LED backlit LCD monitor is elegantly outfitted to saunter down the runway and is ready to bring a touch of slim, eco friendly luxury into the home or office.
The W86's ultra slim screen rests above a ruby red base that shimmers like a polished gemstone.
A golden band adorns the monitor necklace like just below the screen.
A rich, piano black surface encases the entire monitor, creating a clean, uncluttered finish.
LG even gave special attention to the external controls on the W86.
The LED illuminated power button adorns the bezel like a brilliant jewel.
Other controls are hidden below the bezel and reveal their soft red glow only when a hand approaches.
Utilizing advanced LED backlighting allowed LG to make the W86 an incredibly slim 20.5 mm, one third slimmer and lighter than most CCFL-backlit monitors.
With an impressive dynamic contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1, the W86 is able to convey fine details when viewing photos, movies or even games on screen.
This performance requires no sacrifice as the W86 uses average 40% less power than normal CCFL monitors and contains absolutely no mercury.
The W86's design is rivalled only by the quality of its picture. 22 & 24 inch models will be available with Full HD 1080p resolution and all models feature 2ms response time.
Another new feature, aptly named Auto Bright, precisely adjusts the monitor's brightness based on the brightness of the room and the content on the screen, resulting in a better picture while also saving energy.
Two HDMI ports enable the W86 to pair effortlessly with PCs, game consoles and Blu ray devices for maximum picture quality.
With its 16:9 aspect ratio, every corner of the screen is filled when watching widescreen movies with no black bars to distract from the viewing pleasure.
LG gave the W86 advanced features to match its unique look. With Cinema Mode, online video experience is far superior than on regular displays.
With a press of a button, the monitor automatically blacks out everything but the video.
Time Control provides automatic reminders to take breaks at set intervals.
Its 4:3 wide mode stretches movies, games and programs designed for older square monitors to fill the screen completely with minimal distortion.
EZ Zooming relieves tired eyes, instantly switching the on screen image to a lower resolution to provide larger, easier to read text.
LG's W86 will make its debut during Gitex 2009 and will be available in 22-inch 16:10 and 24-inch 16:9 configurations.
