New Microsoft Tablet Surfaces at Axiom Telecom

Published Dec 3, 2012

Microsoft Surface went on sale yesterday at Axiom Telecom stores across the UAE, with the innovative retailer once again underlining its position as the go-to destination for the latest mobile technology.

Axiom Telecom is one of the first in the UAE to sell the Microsoft’s bold foray into the booming tablet market. Currently, the 32GB black version is on sale for AED 2,899, with other models set to follow in the coming weeks.

Running on Windows 8, the 9.3 mm thin, 676g light Microsoft Surface features a full-sized USB port, and a 10.6” ClearType HD Display with 16:9 aspect ratio – the industry standard for HD.

The casing has been created using an approach known as VaporMG, a combination of material selection and process to mold metal and deposit particles that creates a finish akin to a luxury watch. The design enables a built-in kickstand to transition from active use to passive consumption.

One of Microfsoft Surface’s most notable features is a 3mm Touch Cover, which uses unique pressure-sensitive technology, Touch Cover senses keystrokes as gestures, and claims to enable touch typing significantly faster than with an on-screen keyboard.

“Surface brings a host of new features and perspectives to the Middle East’s thriving tablet market and, as ever, we are proud to be the first to bring it to our customers,” said Faisal Al Bannai, CEO, Axiom Telecom.

As a valued added service, Axiom Telecom is currently offering a part exchange service for customers wishing to trade in their old tablets.

2012 has been a busy year for Axiom Telecom, which has been the first in the region to sell must-have devices such as Google Nexus 7, Samsung Galaxy S3, Nokia Lumia 920, iPad Mini and iPad4.

With 2,000 employees, Axiom Telecom is the Middle East’s largest mobile retailer, currently boasting a portfolio of 575 retail points and reaches over 3,742 points of sale across the region.

In addition to a growing reputation for its rapid launches, Axiom Telecom stands out for a host of customer service innovations such as a 60-second data transfer, 1 hour express repair, a pick-up and delivery service for repairs, stand-by phones during the repair period, and a 2-year warranty on select brands.
