Cisco and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport Announce Heightened Level Cooperation with Cisco Networking Academy in Egypt

The Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport (AASTMT) in Egypt announced the launch of its new Network Infrastructure and Linux Red Hat Scholarship and the integration of the Cisco® Networking Academy® curriculum into its core College of Computing and Information Technology Program.
AASTMT was also awarded Cisco Egypt the AASTMT Honorary Recognition Award at a ceremony presided by Professor Dr. Mostafa Abdel Azeim, dean of College of Computing and Information Technology, AASTMT which took place on Saturday 1st December 2012.
The AASTMT has been operating as a Cairo Cisco Academy since September 2003 thus playing an important role in developing the best qualified Cisco networking engineers for the Egyptian ICT market. The new scholarship program, which is open for both existing and non AASTMT students, will run annually, each scholarship being awarded for a period of 10 months.
Highlights / Key Facts:
• The Cisco Networking Academy provides ICT skills to students around the world to improve their career and economic opportunities. Networking academies operate in high schools, colleges, universities, technical and military schools, and community-based organizations.
• Its curriculum combines the theory and practice of designing, developing and implementing the networks that underpin businesses and other organisations. In addition, its advanced technology curricula in areas such as security, wireless and Internet Protocol (IP) telephony provide exposure to the latest technology skills in those fields. It also has a module teaching computer technician skills.
The AASTMT boasts one on the best CCNP Cisco labs in the region. The Cisco CCNP curriculum is designed for students seeking career oriented, enterprise-level networking skills. CCNP helps students develop the skills needed to succeed in ICT-related degree and diploma programs and prepare for the Cisco CCNP certification. The courses are available to both registered and non-registered AASTMT students. Recently the Academy has also integrated Cisco Networking Academy courses into the College of Computing and Information Technology curriculum.
• The Academy’s Network Infrastructure and Linux Red Hat Scholarship program will commence on the 15th February 2013. Selected candidate trainees will be taught by elite staff from AASTMT Cairo Cisco Networking Academy and also Red Hat Academy instructors. As part of the scholarship successful graduates who complete the Cisco CCNA, CCNA Security, CCNP and Red Hat Linux RHCSA tracks will be granted a 58% discount voucher for international exams for CCNA, 50% discount voucher on CCNA Security and 75% discount voucher on RHCSA international exam representing an overall saving of about 66 % of the normal course costs.
