LG Electronics (LG), a global leader and technology innovator in mobile communications, announced that its newest feature packed netbook, the LG-X130, is to be unveiled this month.
"The success of netbooks in the market has not come from excessive features, but rather from their portability and design. Consumers today favour the convenience of being able to take their computers with them everywhere," said Mr. H.S. Paik, President of LG Electronics Gulf FZE.
"LG has been aiming to develop an easy to use netbook that makes consumers' lives easier by focusing on convenient portability, straightforward operation and connectivity without unnecessary configuration".
The LG-X130 is both light and sleek and boasts a diverse range of smart and powerful features to enhance its portability.
Users are able to perform tasks including web surfing, online gaming, and enjoying various multimedia content anywhere, any time.
The LG-X130 packs a 1.6GHz Intel Atom power plant along with 1GB of RAM and can be fitted with a range of battery options including 3 and 6-cell units.
A 9-cell battery is also available and offers power for up to 12 hours, and the entire system tips the scales at a scant 1.45 KG in spite of the powerful 9-cell battery.
The netbook is also equipped with a total care system called 'Smart-Care' which helps keep the machine up and running by inspecting and recovering from system errors with just a few clicks.
This smart solution includes an intelligent diagnostic engine with live updates, and support for multiple languages.
A Smart Recovery feature is also included, which helps the system recover from serious errors to ensure that even the most novice computer users are always protected.
The LG-X130 can boot in 5-seconds thanks to the inclusion of a Smart On interface, which provides support for common applications including a web browser, messenger, games, an MP3 player, and photo viewer.
This exclusive feature enables users to turn on the netbook and chat on an instant messaging client in just 10-15 seconds; a task that would take over a minute on a conventional notebook.
The stylish exterior of the LG-X130 is expected to appeal to the most style conscious consumer.
The original colour choices that include black, white, and pink, all feature a distinctive ripple pattern on the lid.
The LG-X130 also packs a range of multimedia features including a 1.3 megapixel webcam for video chatting and conferencing, advanced audio and video, and a LED backlit 1024 x 600 pixel screen.
The LG-X130 will be launched during Gitex 2009.
