Comguard, a Dubai-based leading value-added distributor for IT security products, a part of Spectrum group and WinMagic Inc., today announced the launch of SecureDoc Version 6.1 in Middle East region. This new version will bring forward a host of new benefits including the ability to manage all devices via a convenient web based, user friendly interface as well as support across multiple platforms and devices. WinMagic is now in the unique position to be able to offer customers support for desktops, laptops, tablets and smartphones from a single management console.
Building on its industry-leading Full-disk encryption offering, WinMagic is pleased to bring forth a whole new set of features and enhancements to SecureDoc 6.1, including the newly launched capability of supporting Apple MAC FileVault2 and Mobile Device Management (MDM) support for iOS and Android devices. In addition, an enhanced Web console has been added to further simplify IT administration, making it easier and more flexible for centralized control and management.
“With the growing trend of Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) across organizations, WinMagic wanted to ensure we were providing the tools necessary for our customers to effectively and easily manage their security strategy in this new day and age, while at the same time offering feature sets that allow them to decrease the total cost of IT network ownership. WinMagic’s strategy has consistently been to offer our customers simple, scalable and cost efficient solutions and we will continue to do so well into the future,” says George Jason, General Manager Middle East at WinMagic.
SecureDoc 6.1 New Features:
• Mobile Device Management (MDM) for iOS and Android Devices: Centralized management to enforce encryption and data security policies. All settings/controls can be accessed and managed through the SecureDoc Enterprise Server (SES) Web Console.
• FileVault 2 Support: With one of the leading Mac OS X encryption solutions in the market, WinMagic has taken it a step further, giving customers even more flexibility than before, with the addition of FileVault 2 management. Now customers can leverage SecureDoc for Mac or use the native encryption technology in Mac OS X. Both can be centrally managed by SES.
• SES Web Console: In order to offer customers the most flexibility and control over their data encryption and security solution, WinMagic has added the SES Web Console. The SES Web Console gives IT administrators convenient access to all SES settings via a Web browser such as Internet Explorer, Google Chrome or Firefox. SES Web Console offers a complete view of all devices encrypted or managed by SecureDoc whether it’s a smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop.
• Windows 8 support: SecureDoc 6.1 offers compatibility for Microsoft Windows 8.
In addition to these new features, a number of enhancements have also been made in SecureDoc 6.1. With 6.1 a new interface has been developed for end point clients and servers. The new interface offers a clean look and feel and is consistent across the various versions of SecureDoc.
Jayadevan K, Senior Vice President, Value Business at Comguard, said, “We are happy to introduce version 6.1 of SecureDoc from WinMagic in the Middle East region. The new version of SecureDoc offers a number of new advantages including the ability to manage all devices via a convenient Web based, user friendly interface as well as support across multiple platforms and devices.”
