Immerse In a New Digital Experience with Lamp-Free Professional Projectors from Panasonic

Published Feb 10, 2013

The new Solid Shine series projectors from Panasonic have introduced an alternative to the current short-life span conventional lamp systems with a combination of LED and laser diodes. The new light sources claim to have a life-span of 20,000 hours – that's around 5 times more than a normal bulb-based projectors life-span and equivalent to more than 2 years continuous use, without the need to replace a lamp or change a filter. The first generation models of Solid Shine series include 4 models, PT-RW330, PT-RZ370, PT-RW430, and PT-RZ470.

This newly developed LED/Laser-combined light source enables solid reliability, excellent Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and long-lasting brightness, unprecedented by conventional lamp-based projectors. All of the Solid Shine projectors feature Digital Link connectivity.

The Full-HD PT-RZ370 and WXGA RW330 with 3,500 lumen of brightness are equipped with basic features and are ideal for class rooms or meeting rooms where you need simple installation for everyday use. In addition to the two models, Full-HD PT-RZ470 and WXGA RW430 will have higher contrast ratio (20,000:1) edge-blending, portrait mode and 3D function for more professional use such as digital signage and projection onto extra wide screens. . These new projectors offer excellent picture quality and brightness with beautiful, vivid colours, whilst maintaining it for a long time. The LED/Laser combined light source has a higher level of colour purity than an ordinary lamp, allowing it to achieve colour production with wider colour space.

Other benefits of the Solid Shine series include, quickness of image appearing as well as no cooling necessity after use, and this further enables 24/7 operation capabilities. The power can be turned on immediately after being turned off, and it can be turned on/off as many times as you want. There are also a number of eco management functions where power consumption can be reduced by 20 to 30 percents.

Approximately 75% of the original brightness level is retained even after 10,000 hours of use, and as a unique technology from Panasonic the projectors use a built in colour sensor to help maintain white balance in images.

Panasonic ‘Digital Link’ featured across the Solid Shine series, offer the end users a much simplified AV infrastructure with high definition video, audio, and control signals all carried over a single CAT5E or higher Ethernet cable for up to 100 meters.

The area between the LED/Laser to the DLP™ chip and prism is hermetically sealed to form an airtight structure for the optical block, the heart of the projector. This resists the effects of dust and other particles in the air, and enables use of the projector, in a wide range of environment.

These projectors set themselves apart from other combined light source projectors in the market with 30x drive system that minimises DLP™ rainbow effects, installation friendly features such as 2x zoom, lens shift, and pride a high contrast ratio of over 10,000:1.

Panasonic’s Daylight View Basic technology achieves sharp, easy-to-see images by clearly reproducing the details in dark image areas, which were previously difficult to see in brightly lit rooms.

The Solid Shine series projectors possess a range of display modes including DICOM Mode for medical applications and REC 709 for HD-TV standard. Together with Digital Link, Crestron® RoomView™ is supported giving easy network control.
