Published Feb 14, 2013

WebNMS, a division of ZOHO Corp. and a leading global provider of network and element management solutions, announced that it is participating in the Midde East Electricity (MEE) 2013 exhibition, which will take place from February 17-19, 2013 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. WebNMS will offer visitors a preview of its WebNMS M2M Power Grid Monitoring solution in addition to showcasing its M2M technologies at the region’s focused power exhibition. Senior global executives from the company will be available at the WebNMS stand (2H16) to meet with customers and share their global experiences and case studies with them.

Speaking on their participation, Mr. Prabhu Ramachandran, Director- WebNMS said, “The Middle East is a very important market for us and the MEE 2013 exhibition is an ideal platform for us to showcase our power grid monitoring solutions and M2M technologies to a niche focused audience. The exhibition attracts visitors from across the Middle East and Africa region that are scouting for the latest technologies and solutions catering to the energy and power sector and these are target customers for our solutions. Apart from previewing our WebNMS M2M Power Grid Monitoring solution, we are looking forward to meeting our existing and potential customers at a single venue over three days.”

Machine-to-machine (M2M) technologies promise a future where machines will now be connected through the internet and will actively communicate with each other, transmitting vital data to a central location. Each device must be equipped with a communication module or a sensor for data collection. The data generated from this communication allow enterprises to gain actionable insights and the two-way communication between machines eliminates the need for human intervention in many routine service operations.

According to a research report from the analyst firm Berg Insight: The global number of wireless M2M connections is forecasted to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 27.2% to reach 359.3 million in 2016.

WebNMS Power Grid Monitoring solution will remotely monitor passive infrastructure and will generate actionable information in real time. The product is built on the WebNMS Framework, which is a highly scalable network management product, deployed more than 25,000 times for telecom service providers across the globe.

With an effective remote monitoring system like WebNMS Power Grid Monitoring solution, operators can now take centralized control of the complex electrical grids and improve operational excellence by proactive diagnosis of power leakage or breakage. WebNMS Power Grid Monitoring solution consists of a hardware unit, the Remote Telemetry Unit (RTU) which communicates to machines via series of sensors, relays and Central Management software based on the WebNMS Framework. The RTU communicates to the central management system through Ethernet/GRPS/SMS.

WebNMS M2M products (ATM site manager, Cell tower manager, Road infrastructure manager and Power grid monitoring solution) provides reliable and value-added solutions to take control of assets over the air and to get the most out of communications between machines.
