UAE Company Edges Closer to World’s Most High-Tech, Eco-Friendly “Water Go-Kart”

Published Feb 19, 2013

A new United Arab Emirates-based company has joined forces with a leading e-mobility pioneer, moving it a step closer to launching the world’s most high-tech and eco-friendly water go-kart.

A memorandum of understanding (MOU) was recently signed between JetPad and EVC-Group.EU in Warsaw, Poland, at the Poland-United Arab Emirates Business Forum. The deal was finalized in the presence of HE Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansoori, UAE Minister of Economy; HE Hamad Buamim, Director General of Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Hassan Al Hashemi, Director for External Relations Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Janusz Piechocinski, Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy.

The collaboration will significantly boost JetPad’s engineering and innovation credentials as it aims to bring its unique range of water go-karts to market.

Set for production in Al Quoz, Dubai, JetPad’s proposed range of water go-karts will run with zero emissions and offer a virtually noise-free experience, as well as a host of innovative navigation and safety features. Full specifications and details will be revealed at an official launch event in the coming months.

“Last year we tested the waters with several prototypes in the UAE and, while the feedback was great, we wanted to push the envelope even further to achieve something truly exceptional. Our union with EVC-Group.EU gives us the chance to do just that, and really take a quantum leap forward in terms of technology,” said Alexander Schellnast, Chairman, JetPad.

“Nothing like this has ever been seen before; a water go-kart that will not only comply with strict environmental and safety regulations, but also retain the capacity to deliver a hugely exciting user experience.”

“Featuring modifiable safety features, we expect JetPads to appeal to everyone from the most hardened adrenaline junkie to young children,” added Schellnast.

“The technology we now have on-board literally makes the JetPad operate like a mobile app. This is the absolute cutting-edge – a genuine world-first - and we are immensely proud to be a UAE company taking the lead in this space.”

The MOU is set to give JetPad access to the expertise from across the EVC-Group.EU portfolio, including EVC-MOTORS.EU (BLDC motors production) and EVC-CONTROLS.EU (dedicated e-mobility electronics and specialized GPS solutions).

“EVC-Group.EU is delighted to work with JetPad on what promises to be a series of game-changing products,” said Przemyslaw Rozmysłowicz, CEO, EVC-Group.EU.

“This is new frontier in water-sports and, indeed, water-based mobility in general, and we can’t wait to get started.”
