Canon Scans Channel Opportunities to Grow DIMS Business

Published Mar 3, 2013

Canon Middle East, a leader in imaging and business solutions has further strengthened its line-up of document scanning solutions to cater to the growing demand present in vertical industries such as education, banking and healthcare. Hosting its first-ever reseller seminar in the region, allowed Canon to showcase its new range of products and also encourage partners to enhance their current channel distribution network to consolidate its Document Imaging Management System (DIMS) business.

Attending the seminar was Sean Suematsu, Canon’s Document Scanning Solutions Director for the EMEA region, who spoke about market trends and presented Canon’s channel strategy in the Middle East. The presentation was followed by a series of product demonstrations aimed at key stakeholders, to gain a better understanding of the range.

Hendrik Verbrugghe, Marketing Director, Canon Middle East said, “Organisations are recognising the benefits that effective document scanning can offer, for heightened efficiency and worker productivity. With this in mind, we have introduced a whole range of reliable scanning devices that combine rapid scanning speeds with high-quality detection and image capture, to ensure companies can work towards digitalising important documents as efficiently as possible.

Through our first-ever reseller event, our aim was to empower system integrators and value added resellers to work more with Canon to tap into different vertical industries and expand its current channel distribution network. Our strategy to achieving this is was by demonstrating a unique value approach of Canon’s document scanning solutions.”

Specific to the region, Canon introduced its first Arabic interface scanner – the imageFORMULA ScanFront 300 at the seminar. “The introduction of a smooth and productive Arabic interface within the new range of network scanners has created more value addition for the end user customers in the Middle East. This is a key strategic advantage for Canon over its competitors and ensures that the company is well positioned to maintain its dominant position in the booming digital imaging solutions market,” added Verbrugghe.

Canon’s products feature powerful software that helps businesses to reliably scan and convert documents into existing workflows and to the cloud providing end users with low foot space, less energy consumption and faster throughput speeds in colour, which makes them quite popular amongst users. With the introduction of wireless scanning with personal scanners it gives a lot more value addition to retailers to promote them to end users.

“We are extremely pleased with the turnout and the feedback from our guests on Canon’s DIMS technology and also for the range’s cost-effective scanning capabilities. We strongly believe seminars such as these enable us to further strengthen our relationships with partners and help gain a greater understanding of their needs,” concluded Verbrugghe.
