Schneider Electric Introduces Industrys First Efficiency Quotient to Assist Customers with Energy Assessments

Published Apr 3, 2013
Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management, announced the launch of its new Efficiency Quotient, a quick and easy online questionnaire that allows customers to make a basic assessment on what they can do to further enhance the management of their assets for reducing energy costs and improving efficiency.

Upon completing the ‘quick pulse’ survey, customers receive a “score” between 1 to 5 compared to other like-users, including building managers, data centers, industrial plants and energy managers. Based on the score, Schneider Electric provides customers with recommendations and access to related white papers, specific links and tools to help guide their energy efficiency improvement process. CEOs can determine their Enterprise Efficiency Quotient through encouraging managers across the organization to take the survey.

Ahmed Al Rashoud, Vice President – Corporate Strategy, Business Development and Energy Management Solutions, Schneider Electric - Saudi Arabia, said: “Saving money as well as achieving efficiency and sustainability are key objectives of companies today. The Efficiency Quotient provides a simple yardstick to Fortune 1000 companies to understand their current performance, benchmark effectiveness with peers and identify easy steps to lower energy bills and increase efficiency.”

The Efficiency Quotient is Schneider Electric’s latest tool to help educate and drive energy management and efficiency for customers and the society.

In 2010, the company launched its Collaborative Portal Project, a private, online community that provides easy access to the people, information and technology needed to effectively guide energy management projects. Used by customers in Saudi Arabia and Schneider Electric to manage projects, the portal includes comprehensive web meeting capabilities and social networking features that help customers decrease costs, expedite time-to-market and boost productivity on energy management projects. The portal has driven estimated efficiency gains of 10-30 percent on completed projects and is recognized as an industry-leading collaborative resource.

In 2009, the company launched Energy University providing vendor-neutral efficiency education tools and training via 150 specialized programs that are being accessed by more than 130,000 global professionals in 12 languages. Schneider Electric is partnering with over 10 professional associations to provide continuing education credits, and recently announced a new Professional Energy Manager (PEM) certification — a highly respected credential for energy management certification in association with the Institute of Energy Professionals.

Al Rashoud concluded: “We will continue to play a leadership role in offering our customers and the industry the tools necessary for improving energy management and efficiency including comprehensive assessments and comparisons with the Efficiency Quotient, as well as education and learning with Energy University, and managing projects efficiently with the Collaborative Portal.”
