Global infrastructure specialist, Siemon, has joined the Communications Cable and Connectivity Association (CCCA), a non-profit corporation, which acts as a key industry resource for information on the technologies and products of structured cabling media.
"The Siemon Company has followed the CCCA and has been impressed with its initiatives and focus on education and creating awareness. We view CCCA as a strong industry association and an excellent platform for Siemon and other members to address issues important to the structured cabling industry," said Bob Carlson, vice president of global marketing for Siemon.
The USA-based CCCA has 20 members globally and supports current and future needs of the networking, IT and communications industries by proactive work on codes, standards bodies and other trade, industry and governmental organisations. It influences policy and decisions affecting the quality, performance and societal needs of structured cabling infrastructure.
"We at CCCA are thrilled that Siemon has chosen to add its voice to ours and become a member. Siemon's brand recognition and well-established reputation for quality fits perfectly with our membership goals and mission," said Bill Kloss, chairman of the board, CCCA.
The CCCA has also now formed a new Data Centre Committee to leverage the knowledge and expertise of its member companies by providing more education on structured cabling benefits specific to design options in the data centre.
"We advocate data centre design that provides greater flexibility, interoperability and can save significant cost and energy. The CCCA will provide an essential independent and impartial view on best practice that can be trusted by those designing, building or operating data centres," said Carlson.
