Microsoft Hosts Annual Open Door with ADSIC

Published Apr 14, 2013

Microsoft this week hosted its annual Open Door in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Systems & Information Centre (ADSIC), revealing the next generation of cloud and productivity technology products and services available to businesses and consumers in the UAE.

Windows 8, Office 2013, Windows Azure and Windows Server 2012 were all featured at the Intercontinental Hotel in Abu Dhabi. The 400 attendees were also shown the ‘UAE National Plan,' for the first time, which is Microsoft's strategy for enhancing the UAE's competitiveness and global ranking through technology and IT enablement of businesses and communities.

Microsoft Open Door is a one-day event that brings together speakers from Microsoft and its partners to provide the technology and business community with insights into the latest technology developments. Attendees engaged with Microsoft specialists and interacted with other peers from the IT community, while learning about Microsoft's solutions, new technologies and vision for 2013.

In close collaboration with ADSIC, the event also served as an IT knowledge sharing platform with industry experts, furthering the competitiveness of the UAE and supporting the UAE's Vision 2021.

"We are thrilled to be revealing our latest technology innovation during Open Door this year," said Samer Abu Ltaif, regional general manager, Microsoft Gulf.

"We are committed to providing businesses and consumers with access to the latest technology that will enhance their productivity. We are also very proud to be revealing the plan that supports the vision for UAE 2021 in an ongoing commitment that highlights our partnership with the UAE government to enhance its global ranking and competitiveness. The strategy supports capacity-building of the future industry leaders, entrepreneurship and SME enablement, education innovation and healthcare excellence. "

"It was a very rewarding experience for ADSIC to join Abu Dhabi's key government entities in learning about the potential of Microsoft's latest productivity and cloud computing solutions," said Rashed Lahej Al Mansoori, director general, Abu Dhabi Systems & Information Centre.

"Microsoft's Open Door event has given us great ideas on how to further transform Abu Dhabi into a digital society and satisfy the growing demand among local businesses and entrepreneurs for more advanced technologies to boost their performance and productivity. Microsoft's innovative offerings are also very much welcome in ADSIC's continuous operational and service improvement initiatives."
