Westcon Appoints Christopher Green as New Divisional Head of Security Business Unit

Westcon Group, a value-added distributor of category-leading unified communications, network infrastructure, data center and security solutions with a global network of specialty resellers, has appointed Christopher Green as the Divisional Head for its Security Business Unit. In this role, Mr. Green will manage the sales and pre-sales teams for Westcon's portfolio of Juniper, Blue Coat, Dell SonicWall and Kaspersky solutions, in order to grow Westcon's share of the regional IT security market.
The announcement comes at a time when security is playing a key role in shaping the IT infrastructures of Middle East organizations. “The Middle East security market is growing”, states a report from research authority Frost & Sullivan. The report predicts that the Middle East network security market will experience a healthy growth rate of over 18% between 2012 and 2018. Christopher Green said, “It is a very exciting time to be at the helm of the security division of one of the region’s leading IT value added distributors. Prior to joining Westcon, Christopher Green spent nine years serving in various top level sales roles at Avnet which included Sales Manager, Gulf and Levant at HP Enterprise Server, Storage and Networking and Middle East Sales Manager at Computer Components and Integrated Solutions (CCIS). His local experience of over seven years has given him keen insights into channel related operations and the planning and execution of go-to-market strategies tailored for success in the highly competitive regional channel market.
Westcon boasts a comprehensive security solutions portfolio that addresses network security, secure web gateways, enterprise email security, unified threat management, and cloud-based security.
