TANDBERG’s Executive Briefing Centre Connecting The Middle East & North Africa To The World

Published Oct 4, 2009
As part of its commitment to, and positive forecast on the region, TANDBERG has opened its Middle East head office showcasing world leading communications tools to help customers become fully acquainted with the endless possibilities open to them through TANDBERG’s telepresence and video conferencing solutions.

The Middle East Executive Briefing Centre located in the newly built Office Park Building in Dubai Internet City is fully equipped with TANDBERG’s technology, enabling it to act as a powerful tool to demonstrate the business value that visual communication can offer to improve everyday business life.

TANDBERG has set up similar Briefing Centres in its offices around the globe to create a consistent experience with the same look, feel and messaging where customers can connect with partners and appreciate the full potential that TANDBERG can help achieve when implemented through a multisite organisation.

“Our Briefing Centre is a fully integrated communication hub able to communicate in real time with our offices across the globe,” says TANDBERG General Manager Middle East & North Africa, Georges Lemire.

“The idea here is to give customers the TANDBERG experience and allow them to see the full potential of what our product can provide”.

He says that people are often surprised when they visit the centre as they had never imagined the difference effective communications tools can make to a business.

According to TANDBERG Country Manager of UAE & Oman Munzer Aloush, TANDBERG telepresence solutions create a highly collaborative, in person meeting experience with other remote participants.

This is so life like that it creates the feeling of having a conversation with colleagues at the other end of the boardroom table.

“We’re about offering a natural experience; an experience that’s as close to real life as possible. We have four dedicated conference rooms set up to different specifications, each which shows the different benefits advanced telepresence technology can offer,” says Aloush.

The benefits of TANDBERG’s product affect all aspects of a company’s performance, from effective time management and inter communications, through to cutting travel expenses by up to 30 percent or even more in some instances, all positively adding to an organisation’s bottom line and ultimately, its profit.

The Vodafone Group, for example, that currently has 35,000 employees globally using TANDBERG solutions, has reduced travel costs by 30 percent.

Soon 70,000 employees across the globe will be connected via TANDBERG and this is sure to see a further saving on travel and accommodation expenses.

By replacing business travel with video conferencing, TANDBERG itself, which employs over 1,500 staff globally, was able to save over $45 million and 21,000 metric tons of carbon emissions, and gained about 38,250 productivity hours over the past year.

“I have a meeting with my corresponding departments from around the world on a weekly basis, which allows us to formulate strategy and ensures we’re all on the same page,” says TANDBERG’s MENA Marketing Manager, Hana Ibrahim.

“Its invaluable as it unifies us as a team, increasing productivity, and gives us the opportunity to really sort through the issues as if we were in the same room, face to face, in a way that email or the phone can’t”.

“Without this technology available to us there’s no way that about 90 of us could meet on such a regular basis without dramatically eating into company profits not to mention the increase in downtime resulting from having to travel to a central point for the meetings,” she adds.

TANDBERG sees its product as a way to the future and speculate about the day when all workplaces will be as integrated as the Executive Briefing Centres.

Aloush concludes: “This is the future we all remember waiting days for a simple brief or some vital information, then email came along and now we have telepresence and video conferencing. It’s the new way of working and we will start to see it being implemented more and more, especially in large multi nationals. Eventually we envision a work place where everything is integrated and attending a meeting in Tokyo from your desk in Dubai, or even as you fly over the Atlantic both of which TANDBERG can do will be an everyday occurrence”.
