GCC Employees Increase Global Competitiveness Through Effective Language Learning

“Employees in the Middle East, especially the GCC, can increase their global competitiveness if the right language skills are acquired,” says Donavan Whyte, Vice President of Sales, EMEA Enterprise & Education at Rosetta Stone, during his visit to the region. Rosetta Stone is the global leader in language-learning solutions for businesses, educational institutions and individuals.
“Globalization requires highly skilled graduates and employees that have the ability to compete across markets and thereby contribute to the growth of the local economy,” says Donavan Whyte. “Foreign language skills are critical to connect and collaborate with colleagues, customers and partners across the globe. In addition, businesses in emerging and established economies expect to trade in their native languages.
“Research shows that organisations can develop well-rounded employees that can communicate effectively with global partners by acquiring language skills, awareness of business style and cultural knowledge. The inability to speak the language of colleagues and customers creates communication barriers in a global business environment. Adding language training can minimise these limitations,” explains Whyte.
In order to offer highly effective and scalable language-learning solutions to local and regional organisations in the Middle East, Rosetta Stone formed a collaborative partnership with Eton Institute, UAE's No. 1 and largest language training centre, to offer highly effective and scalable language-learning solutions to local and regional organisations in the region.
Dr. Eli Abi Rached, CEO, at Eton Institute says: “We are extremely pleased to partner with Rosetta Stone in offering its online learning programme to our students and corporate clients. We strongly believe that online learning that can be delivered directly to computers and tablets of our clients will become the key delivery method for training within the region. Rosetta Stone is the most complete language-learning programme in the world.”
Rosetta Stone opened its first Middle East regional office in Dubai earlier this year.
Donavan Whyte adds: “We share our vision with Eton Institute on the importance and impact of language learning and language capabilities in today’s world. Eton Institute is a well-recognised and reputable language-learning institution across the Middle East with a healthy client base. Our partnership will allow us to bring effective language learning to more people who will experience how language can foster their self-development and contribute to the international success of an organisation.”
The partnership enables Rosetta Stone to increase its regional support in furthering local education offerings. Eton Institute has critical links with various corporate organisations in the UAE and other countries in the Middle East that will now be able to up-skill their employees in order to become more competitive in the marketplace.
Eton Institute now has the ability to add Rosetta Stone as a technology component for its classroom teaching to create an effective blended-learning environment responding to students’ different learning styles.
With Rosetta Stone’s solutions Eton Institute is taking learning to the next level. Students are able to learn anytime and anywhere using mobile devices. Rosetta Stone’s 20 years’ experience in the language-learning space, as well as their proven and unique method will add value to Eton Institute’s current offerings in the region.
