Cable? What Cable? ScanSnap iX500 Connects to the Computer via Wi-Fi

Published Jul 29, 2013

Fujitsu’s ScanSnap iX500 now comes with enhanced Wi-Fi functionality, offering not only Wi-Fi connectivity between scanner and mobile Android- and Apple iOS-based devices, but also enabling the scanner to connect to a PC or Mac via Wi-Fi. The new feature makes the award winning ScanSnap iX500 even more user-friendly.

This update offers enhanced Wi-Fi connectivity. Now users can transfer scanned documents via Wi-Fi also to their PC or Mac, as well as to Android- or iOS-based tablets and smartphones – all at the touch of a button.

Other key features of the ScanSnap iX500 include the ability to link to many applications and cloud services, as well as enhanced user productivity through automated image optimisation.

This latest enhancement is yet another example of how Fujitsu, the leading brand in professional document scanners in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region, is continuously striving to add user-friendly functions and innovation to its document imaging solutions.

As of 29 July 2013, the "ScanSnap Online Update" programme will automatically notify existing users of the free update – provided that this function has been activated. In order to complete the process, users simply have to follow the instructions on the screen. The ScanSnap Manager update can also be downloaded at the following website: http://www.fujitsu.com/global/support/computing/peripheral/scanners/software/ix500.html
