Prologix Inks Agreement with Digital Lightwave for Distribution of Testing Equipment for 40/100G Telecom Networks in GCC

Published Sep 1, 2013

Prologix Distribution, a leading value added distributor (VAD) of IT and Telecom technologies in the Middle East and Africa, has signed a partnership agreement with Digital Lightwave, a provider of test equipment and technologies for the telecommunications industry, which will mark the introduction of vendor in the Middle East IT market. The agreement enables Prologix to distribute Digital Lightwave's entire portfolio of products for portable/rack-mount Ethernet, Synchronous Optical Network (SONET) and Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH), Optical Transport Network (OTN) and Fiber Channel testing. These solutions fill the current market gap for high-speed multi-protocol 40/100G network test equipment.

“Building a brand that is instantly recognized as being the leading technology provider for the telecommunications industry in the MEA region is our objective at Prologix Distribution,” said Aditya Sahaya, Director-Sales, Prologix LLC. “Digital Lightwave's innovative and modular solutions allow testing advanced voice and data networks with higher efficiency, accuracy and at a lower investment. Leveraging these technologies and the long standing expertise of this market leader will help us steadily gain market share though business opportunities with both new and existing partners.”

Though the agreement is for distribution of the entire product portfolio, the VAD will focus on Digital Lightwave's Network Information Computer (NIC) single platform instrument which, through a flexible software/firmware architecture, combines a multitude of traditional hardware-based test sets enabling the installation, maintenance, and monitoring of high-speed multi-protocol 40/100G networks. It offers multi-technology, multi-user support and comes with a 3 years warranty and 24/7 technical support provided directly by the vendor. As a single point solution, it presents an excellent technological and economical alternative to the multi-equipment, multi-vendor approach that most telecom companies have been forced to adopt.

In its first year, Prologix estimates business in excess of $1 million. Mr. Sahaya said, “Network resilience is pivotal to the growth of Middle East telcos and effective testing is essential for this. We ensure that the solutions we offer to the market are best of breed and are confident in our partners ability to create a strong demand.”

In order to extend to its partners the high quality of expertise that has become synonymous with the brand, the VAD has established a team of five highly trained test instrument professionals dedicated to the new product range. These engineers have all received training directly from Digital Lightwave on the company's NIC solutions.

The partnership adds to Prologix's already impressive list of vendor partners and further scales the length and breadth of the VAD's capabilities in the field of technologies for the telecommunications industry.
