The iconic Capital Gate in Abu Dhabi – owned by Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) - has become the first building in the region to utilise ROPEBOT technology, an access solution that provides real time live data on building maintenance.
Developed by Q Avalon, one of the region’s leading access solution providers, ROPEBOT is remote high definition camera technology that is able to beam a wireless real-time feed from the abseiler to building management professionals.
Used by a level-three qualified abseiler, the technology allows maintenance professionals to guide the abseiler’s building assessment, delivering instructions and requests.
The data can be beamed to remote locations anywhere in the world, meaning contractors need not be physically present to participate in the building assessment. Data can also be stored and recorded for future reference and documentation.
Pieter Idenburg, ADNEC Group CEO, said: “We are delighted with the opportunities this technology offers us. Capital Gate is a building with a unique design that offers an on-going challenge to deliver the highest standards of building maintenance. Q Avalon’s technology allows us to assess every detail of this building to ensure Capital Gate continues to enhance Abu Dhabi’s skyline.”
Q Avalon’s technology not only offers surveillance services but also allows the skilled technician to carry out instant repairs, engineering works, replacements and even cleaning.
Using a live link, Q Avalon advises clients in the UAE and GCC region of issues or potential concerns to enable a detailed digital record of the building condition. The technicians capture the images in real time allowing clients to view and remain in contact during the survey from any location worldwide.
