Ooredoo Cuts Data Pack Pricing by 50 Percent – Permanently!

Published Sep 22, 2013

Ooredoo announced that it is permanently reducing the price of four of its most popular Data Packs, in response to rising customer demand for data services.
With the new pricing plan, the two most popular Shahry Data Packs – 3GB and 6 GB – and two Hala Data Packs – 750MB or 1500MB – will have their cost reduced by 50 percent, to boost value for customers.

Originally, the price of the Packs had been slashed as part of the special Summer Data Promotion, launched earlier this year. However, feedback from customers has been so positive, and the number of people using Mobile Data has risen so sharply in recent weeks that Ooredoo has made the price promotion into a permanent offer.

Hala and Shahry customers will enjoy more browsing for half the price on selected data packs, enabling them to surf freely without having to use Wi-Fi. Mobile Broadband has seen particularly strong demand in September, with the increase in traffic and people in the cities seeing more customers use their smartphones and devices to access information on the move.

The Shahry 3GB and 6GB options for BlackBerry, Mobile Broadband or Mobile Internet Packs will all see their prices reduced by 50 percent, dropping to a monthly fee of QR80 (down from QR160) and QR100 (down from QR200), respectively.

Similarly, all Hala customers subscribed to Data Packs for BlackBerry, Mobile Broadband or Mobile Internet will enjoy half-price browsing at only QR20 per week for 750MB and QR25 per week for 1500MB Packs.

For Shahry customers, the discounted fee will be reflected in their monthly invoices. Hala customers will receive the new pricing upon activation or renewal of their packs.

Ooredoo continues to offer the most reliable network coverage in the country as it works on nationwide network enhancements and on improving indoor and outdoor network coverage. The number of Mobile Internet customers has increased exponentially in recent years, and Ooredoo is will continue to enhance its portfolio to reflect the rising demand.

In particular, the company has taken the lead in network speeds, offering the first and only 4G Internet service in Qatar for its customers.

For more information on mobile data and available service plans, customers can visit Ooredoo’s website www.ooredoo.qa, Ooredoo’s Facebook page or the Twitter account. Alternatively, customers can drop by any Ooredoo Shop, conveniently located across the country.
