Wi-Fi lets you connect the NEX-5T with your smartphone, PC or TV and wirelessly transfer photos or videos. It is also the first interchangeable lens E-mount camera from Sony with NFC, giving users the extra convenience of one-touch wireless connection with Android smartphones and tablets1 for easy sharing, and even remote control of the camera. There is no set-up needed – simply touch your mobile device against the NEX-5T and a wireless connection is made instantly. Embedded Smart Remote Control lets you trigger shutter release from your smartphone. It is great for group shots when you do not want to be left out of the action.
Built into the NEX-5T is a generously-sized APS-C sensor with 16.1 effective megapixels that grabs more light than the small sensor in ordinary compact cameras. The richly-detailed DSLR-quality stills and Full HD video, with ultra-low picture noise for crisper twilight shots and atmospheric interiors additionally offer a rewarding photographic experience.
Do not miss those split-second moments, from spontaneous portraits to vibrant street scenes. Advanced Fast Hybrid AF combines phase-detection autofocus to track fast-moving subjects with contrast-detection AF for absolute precision. It is a winning combination that delivers speedy, accurate focusing in any scene.
The NEX-5T also makes self-shot portraits quite a simple affair, with the tiltable LCD screen that flips up to 180° for a comfortable view while the camera is held at arm’s length. Auto Portrait Framing takes the guesswork out of good-looking self-clicks, cropping your composition for polished results. There is also a digital level gauge that makes it easy to keep horizons steady and true.

New PlayMemories Camera Apps
There is a growing range of downloadable PlayMemories Camera Apps that add more fun and exciting functions to NEX-5T. Pick from a choice of free picture effects and handy utilities. It is a great way to broaden your creative options as your confidence and ambitions increase.
Smart Remote Control is now updated to Version 2.0, adding Autofocus control directly from the touchscreen of your linked smartphone or tablet (requires installation of latest version of PlayMemories Mobile). There is even more power over your image with fingertip adjustments for EV compensation, aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and white balance. In addition, MF Assist lets you accurately check focus of portraits and macro shots on your phone or tablet’s large screen.
Also updated, Direct Upload Version 2.0 streamlines photo transfers to social networking services wherever there’s a Wi-Fi hotspot handy. Installing the Flickr Add-on now allows direct image uploads to Flickr.
