Brocade to Demonstrate On-Demand Data Center and Cloud-Optimized Networking Capabilities at Gitex 2013

Published Oct 3, 2013

With a third of businesses suffering from network outages several times every week, Brocade, a leader in data center networking, will demonstrate many of the recently announced, unique, innovations that go into creating the “On-demand Data Center” at GITEX Technology Week, taking place at Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC) from 20-24 October 2013. The demonstrations will take place on the Mindware stand, located in Hall 3, stand number A3-08.

Sufian Dweik, regional director MEMA at Brocade Communications says, “A recent global survey we conducted indicates that current data center networks are unable to handle cloud computing and virtualization demands. This is of particular concern for businesses in the Middle East where cloud related IT investments are expected to increase substantially in the next few years. According to a recent IDC report, emerging markets, such as MENA, will witness the fastest growth in cloud spending anywhere in the world, collectively growing at 44.1% until 2016. However, many organizations risk long term failure unless they resolve the weaknesses inherent in their current network infrastructures.”

“At Gitex, we will educate show attendees about our recently unveiled On-Demand Data Center strategy which combines the best of physical and virtual networking elements to create a future-proof data center environment that helps organizations rapidly react to market changes and deploy new services and applications in the most efficient manner possible.”

The Brocade ‘On-Demand Data Center’ strategy represents a logical step on the path towards adoption of solutions and approaches such as virtualization and Software-defined Networking, which vastly improve the efficiency, utilization, resilience and manageability of data center environments.

Experts will also be on hand to demonstrate the Brocade HyperEdge™ Architecture; an evolutionary approach to campus network design, providing agile, application and services-centric campus networks that organizations need today. HyperEdge Architecture delivers a campus environment that can quickly and easily scale and respond to the demands of increased user mobility, while delivering instant access to services and applications.

“Gitex is the largest and by far the most important ICT convention in the Middle East. It is an excellent platform for us to understand the dynamics and requirements of the local market, exhibit our broad range of industry leading innovations and expose our brand to a wide audience. Our objective is also to identify new distribution and OEM partners and create stronger bonds with existing ones,” concludes Mr. Dweik.

Mindware is a Brocade distribution partner for the region.
