Autodesk, Inc., a world leader in 3D design, engineering and entertainment creation software, has revealed its successful participation as the Platinum Sponsor of this year’s edition of Construction Week’s Leaders in Construction KSA Summit, the Middle East region's leading high-level strategic conference that brought together the captains of the construction industry. The event, which was held at the Al Faisaliah Hotel in Riyadh, was attended by professionals from the construction industry where they shared opportunities available for developers and contractors while at the same time identifying areas where growth is expected to come in for the next few years. The company’s presence at the event follows after its successful participation at the Leaders in Construction UAE Summit in Dubai.
During the event, Autodesk threw the spotlight on the latest version of its Building Design Suite 2014, which now includes expanded cloud capabilities. The new software unites Building Information Modeling (BIM) and CAD tools to assist in design, simulation, visualization and building. In addition to these features, Building Design Suite 2014 also includes new reality capture tools, which now allow architects, engineers and contractors the ability to create intelligent 3D data from laser scans and captured photos. Design professionals like architects, engineers and contractors now have key access to some Autodesk 360 capabilities, which allows them to share ideas anywhere in the cloud. Lastly, the new design suite showcases new raster editing and raster-to-vector conversion tools designed to increase the visual information on a building plan.
"Saudi Arabia's construction industry is at an all-time high--with industry analysts predicting a 20 per cent growth or a total of over USD 43.8 billion worth of projects by year end. Participating at the Leaders in Construction KSA Summit allowed us the strategic opportunity of being able to reach out to construction professionals from the Kingdom and across the region and share with them the benefits and advantages to be gained from using Building Design Suite 2014. The country's construction industry is truly vibrant--with activity abuzz from the resumption of projects that were once stalled and the entry of projects in the pipeline. Building Design Suite 2014 is looking to position itself as an essential tool for the construction industry, giving designers the ability to create world class designs and building plans,” concluded Hasan Malki, Major Accounts Sales Manager, AEC at Autodesk.
