ESET to Launch ESET Smart Security Version 7 and Demonstrate ESET Endpoint Security Solution at GITEX 2013

Published Oct 9, 2013

ESET®, the global leader in proactive digital protection with a record of 10 years consecutive VB100 awards for its award-winning ESET NOD32® technology, has announced that it will unveil ESET Smart Security Version 7, an all-in-one Internet Security solution for home and business customers, at GITEX Technology Week 2013 in Dubai. The company will also highlight ESET Endpoint Security for business users, which combines a two-way firewall, device control, web control and remote administration to provide comprehensive security for company endpoints.

Through the five days of the convention, ESET will regularly host presentations by Mr. Thomas Uhlemann, Security Specialist, ESET. These short informative sessions, conducted at the ESET stand, require no registration and will be centered around endpoint and mobile security for home users and best security practices for businesses.

Neo Neophytou, Managing Director, ESET Middle East said, “Most home users in the Middle East enjoy a false sense of security so long as they have an antivirus running on their systems. They however pay little or no attention to things such as identity theft, phishing, device theft and system performance. With the advancement of cybercrime and the tools and attack vectors now available to attackers, such oversight simply presents too much of a risk.”

“ESET Smart Security Version 7 is the fastest, most effective and most proactive antivirus and antispyware software solution that eliminates viruses, spyware, adware, worms, trojans, rootkits and other malware before they attack systems. Not only this, it also has low resource utilization and a high scanning speed making it an ideal choice for heavy users and gamers. The anti-theft feature for laptops and smart phones helps protect sensitive data in the event of devices getting stolen or lost,” said Mr. Neophytou. The solution also features an Advanced Memory Scanner, Vulnerability Shield and Improved Cleaning that will eliminate extremely persistent malware and rootkits and stop heavily-encrypted threats.

The company will also showcase its ESET Endpoint Security targeted at the SME and Enterprise segment. The solution, which has consistently performed excellently in various independent tests conducted worldwide, offers endpoint protection, data access control, remote administration, better network performance and better reporting.

ESET is a veteran exhibitor at Gitex having been present at the event for the last nine years. Commenting on what the company hopes to achieve through its participation, Mr. Neophytou said, “GITEX is the principal trade event for the Middle East ICT industry due to the sheer size of audience and participants. It is the ideal platform for us to launch new technologies, given the immediate impact that they can create on both end users and IT channel players.”

“Equally important, it is an opportunity for us to assess the local market which helps us tailor our solutions to best meet the needs of Middle East customers. For example, we identified the popularity of high end smart phones among Arab users and recently launched the Arabic version of ESET Mobile Security for Android. It has been very well received by Arab speaking users and we now have more solutions in Arabic language in the pipeline,” he concluded.

ESET's stand is located in the Network & Security section of GITEX at Hall 1, A1-5.
