Ooredoo Set to Reach 2.5 Million Mobile Customer Milestone by December

Ooredoo announced that the company is set to reach the milestone of 2.5 million mobile customers in Qatar by December 2013.
This sustained customer growth has been driven by the popularity of its Hala and Shahry services, and the wide range of options available for each.
Ooredoo has launched a wave of Hala and Shahry Packs this year, supported by Hala and Shahry Keys, which connect people to a broad range of preferred services, such as international calling and data.
Strikingly, Ooredoo now has more than 400,000 Shahry customers in Qatar – one of the highest proportions of postpaid customers for any operator in the Middle East.
The 2013 launch of Qatar’s first and only 4G service has provided an important boost for Ooredoo in reaching this record number of customers.
Take-up has been strong since the launch of the service in April 2013, and the October upgrade – when the service became available for 4G-enabled smartphones and for Hala and Shahry customers – has helped position Ooredoo to become of the leading providers of 4G services in the Arab world.
With the 4G network now covering Doha and reaching out across the country, Ooredoo is now making 4G available for everyone.
To ensure that Ooredoo’s new customers continue to enjoy access to Qatar’s most reliable network, Ooredoo has launched a country-wide customer experience initiative in 2013, which will continue into the new year.
Recent highlights of this campaign include the official opening of the new Ooredoo Qatar Headquarters Two, with an in-house customer contact centre and high-tech paperless Ooredoo Shop. Ooredoo is continuing to invest in expanding its portfolio of services for Qatar, and is working hard to provide the best possible customer experience.
