Software AG Discusses the Benefits Generated from Real Time Analysis of Data at the IDC Big Data & Analytics Roadshow

Published Nov 19, 2013

Software AG, a global leader in business processes, integration and big data, participated today (Monday, November 18, 2013) at the IDC Big Data and Business Analytics Conference 2013 at the Emirates Palace Hotel, Abu Dhabi. The company conducted a session that explores the value that organizations across industries can benefit from by accessing, monitoring and responding to business events at the ‘right time’, which will serve them as a key market differentiator in this fast pace environment.

According to IDC, in the Middle East, over 40 per cent of CIOs have reported that they are scoping investments in Analytics and Big Data technologies in 2013, while 58 per cent believed that regulation, governance, compliance requirements and reporting, and greater need for transparency are stimulating this demand. As a result, investment in business analytics solutions across the region is expected to increase at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of more than 20 per cent over the next five years.

The growing regional adoption of Big Data and Analytics – with the UAE at the forefront of the movement – is escalating the need for discovering the real potential of Big Data. To encourage more learning on the topic, Software AG‘s Stephan Geyer, Regional Sales Director – Big Data Division, delivered a presentation on ‘Real Time vs Right Time: An Introduction to the Value of Now’ at the conference.

“We have all been told, presented to and advised to focus on the 4 Vs of Big Data, namely volume, velocity, variety, and value; However, one of the most crucial elements of the conversation around that elusive, last 'V,' Value, has not been extensively discussed,” said Geyer.

“Ascertaining what the best action is from a huge diversity of information sources is not a conversation about ‘real time,’ but one about context-aware decisions or ‘right time’ decisions. By using right-time insight capabilities to unlock the true value of Big Data, we will help organizations take a step towards innovation and market differentiation as well as avoid the problem of accumulating data without monetization,” added Geyer.

“IDC Big Data and Business Analytics Conference 2013, being a premier platform for providing market intelligence, is a great avenue for us to share some valuable insights with Middle East businesses that can help them maximize value from their data to drive growth.” concluded Geyer.
Software AG is a gold sponsor of the IDC Big Data and Business Analytics Conference 2013. The conference is a part of series of roadshows being held across the globe to address topics such as Enterprise Information Management (EIM), Unified Information Access (UIA), Corporate Performance Management, Cloud-Based and Service-Oriented Technologies in Business Intelligence (BI), Next-Generation Analytics, Data Warehousing and Advances in Database Technology, and Data Quality Standardization.
