‘Autodesk University Extension Dubai 2013’ Opens with Middle East Region's Leading Design and Engineering Professionals

'Autodesk University Extension Dubai 2013,’ the preeminent design and engineering conference in the Middle East, opened today (December 17, 2013) at the Sheikh Maktoum Hall of the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), with key attendance of professionals from the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC), Manufacturing, and Media & Entertainment industries. The event, which is being hosted by Omnix International, the authorized distributor for Autodesk products in the Middle East, is part of the ‘Autodesk University’, an annual series of Autodesk in-person and virtual user conferences that has already enjoyed two decades of success in the US. Sponsors for the exciting day-long event included HP (Platinum Sponsor), Intel (Platinum Sponsor), Canon (Gold Sponsor), Stratasys (Silver Sponsor), Jacky’s (Silver Sponsor), Dell (Silver Sponsor) and The Chaos Group Vray (Associate Sponsor). Speakers at the event provided participants with a look at some of Autodesk's latest offerings and taught them the latest productivity tricks and tools used by professionals today. Autodesk also awarded free 2013 professional certification exams on various Autodesk design software and Certifications will be provided free of cost for the latest versions of Autodesk software like AutoCAD 2014 Certified Professional, Revit Architecture 2014 Certified Professional, Inventor 2014 Certified Professional, Civil 3D 2014 Certified Professional, 3Ds Max 2014 Certified Professional, Maya 2014 Certified Professional.

More than 100 million people from around the world use Autodesk software to help realize their ideas. Featuring select customers, partners and executives, the one-day program gave attendees a key insight into implementing the latest product and technology innovations to help solve creative business problems across multiple industries. The event also featured talks and presentations from leading Autodesk technical evangelist Lynn Allen; Nick Manning, EMEA Industry Marketing Manager, Autodesk Media & Entertainment and Pat Williams, Senior Vice President, Asia Pacific & Emerging Markets for Autodesk.

'Autodesk University Extension Dubai 2013’ includes multi-level main stage lectures and small break out sessions. The main stage sessions included a talk on how to implement and handle BIM in large projects from Miss Elizabeth Peters, AECOM; Energy Analysis and Integration for existing buildings by Charles Blaschke from Taka Solutions; Overcoming BIM Confusion by Pavithran KV of Brookfield Multiplex; Revit 2D versus 3D by Daniel Frawley from Woodsbagot and cloud collaboration by Renad Jabaji from Autodesk. Topics covered during the break out sessions were;
